Job Description

Village Baptist Church Cafeteria is a dedicated food service establishment operating within the educational environment of the Village Baptist Church community. This church-affiliated cafeteria plays a pivotal role in supporting the day-to-day nutritional needs of students, staff, and visitors by providing a warm and welcoming dining atmosphere. As a Cafeteria Server at Village Baptist Church Cafeteria, you will be an essential team member responsible for facilitating smooth operation throughout the lunch service. Reporting directly to the Cafeteria Kitchen Manager, your role supports food service operations by assisting in the setup of serving lines, maintaining cleanliness, stocking essential supplies, and delivering outstanding customer service. This position demands an individual who is dependable, friendly, and efficient, capable of managing the fast pace during meal hours with a focus on hospitality and organization. The role places emphasis on collaboration with the kitchen team to ensure that meals are served promptly and safely while maintaining the highest food safety and sanitation standards.

This is a 10-month employment opportunity, aligned with the school year, with working hours from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The position provides an excellent opportunity for those interested in contributing to a faith-based community environment while gaining valuable experience in food service and customer interaction. Job Requirements

  • minimum educational requirement: high school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in food service, cafeteria service, customer service, or a related field preferred
  • basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • friendly, positive, and service-oriented attitude
  • dependable and punctual
  • ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • comfortable interacting with students, staff, and visitors
  • strong communication and teamwork skills
  • willingness to assist in a variety of cafeteria duties as needed
  • must successfully pass all required background screenings for employment in a school setting
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • ability to work in a kitchen environment, including heat, noise, and frequent movement

Job Duties

  • serve food to students, staff, and visitors in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner
  • assist with setup and preparation of serving lines and meal service areas
  • help maintain smooth and efficient meal service throughout lunch periods
  • keep serving stations clean, stocked, and organized
  • refill food items, beverages, utensils, condiments, and supplies as needed
  • follow food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards at all times
  • assist with cleanup and resetting of serving and dining areas between lunch periods
