The Food Service Supervisor role at Aramark is a full-time position designed for individuals ready to step up and lead within the vibrant Food Services team. Reporting alongside a manager, the Food Service Supervisor plays a vital part in coordinating and overseeing daily food service operations. This role demands leadership in managing staff, ensuring food quality and safety, maintaining organized and hazard-free environments, and supporting team collaboration. The supervisor is responsible for producing and maintaining work schedules, overseeing food production in alignment with safety and quality standards, and promoting a sanitary workplace compliant with health and safety regulations. Additionally, the role involves inventory management, equipment maintenance, training and mentoring staff, and enforcing food safety protocols including temperature controls and appropriate handling procedures.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 1 year of experience in food service or related supervisory role preferred
  • must complete sanitation course before or during first year of employment
  • ability to read, write, and comprehend verbal and written instructions
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • ability to perform basic arithmetic
  • capable of maintaining emotional control under stress
  • flexibility to work occasional nights, weekends, and catering events
  • ability to train and mentor staff
  • knowledge of food safety and health regulations

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Produce and maintain work schedules and may prepare production packets (production sheets and recipes)
  • direct daily activities
  • maintain food production that ensures safety and quality of food according to policies, procedures, and department requirements
  • ensure that food items are stored in a safe, organized, and hazard-free environment
  • maintain all serving schedules and ensure all food items are served per menu specifications in a safe and appropriate manner following Aramark policies and procedures
  • maintain a sanitary department following health and safety codes and regulations
  • maintain accurate inventory on a weekly basis
  • may prepare orders as needed to ensure accurate production for location
  • supervise and evaluate employees, counsel, promote employee growth, efficiency, morale, and teamwork
  • maintain a safe and hazard-free working environment
  • train/mentor other food service workers
  • maintain logs on all maintenance required on equipment within the department
  • ensure all food safety/temperature logs are completed with appropriate corrective action as necessary
  • perform preventative maintenance checklist
  • recommend replacement of existing equipment to meet needs of facility
  • proficiency in multi-tasking
  • perform other duties as requested by the Food Service Director or Manager
  • fill in for absent employees as necessary
  • maintain knowledge of daily catering events and confirm preparation and timely delivery
  • work occasional night and weekend catered events
  • attend food service meetings with staff
  • maintain communication with staff including office staff, e-mail, phone, inter-office mail
  • may perform cashier duties as needed
  • promote good public relations
