The organization is committed to creating not only unforgettable experiences for its guests, residents, and partners but also fostering a world-class employee experience. The company prioritizes a supportive environment where team members are encouraged to thrive and grow, ensuring that the luxurious service standards are met with genuine heart and care. This luxury hotel chain is synonymous with excellence and is recognized worldwide for its impeccable service and elegant properties.
This specific role is situated in one of Four Seasons' prestigious locations in Napa Valley, California, a world-class resort nestled in the heart of wine country. The resort invites guests to experience the pinnacle of culinary and spa luxury, featuring Michelin-starred dining at the Auro restaurant and rejuvenating treatments at Spa Talisa. This Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star resort blends breathtaking views of Napa Valley with personalized Four Seasons service to create a memorable and refined atmosphere.
The position available is a Culinary Team Member responsible for preparing and serving all meals for the Employee Cafeteria. This role supports various meal services, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, and additional food items, ensuring quality and adherence to production standards. In addition to food preparation, the role involves maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment consistent with health and safety regulations. Safety, sanitation, and food quality are paramount responsibilities in this position.
The Culinary Team Member will perform various tasks, including preparing consistent quality food and pastry items by following recipe cards, managing portion sizes, and ensuring proper presentation. They will handle transporting and maintaining food and beverage items within the cafeteria and must maintain hygiene standards for buffet lines, serving utensils, and service wares. Proper mise en place preparation and station setup for meal services are essential duties.
The position also requires operational knowledge of kitchen equipment such as deep fryers, broilers, stoves, steamers, food processors, mixers, slicers, ovens, steam tables, tilt kettles, waffle irons, and flat top grills. The team member is expected to practice proper food rotation, date labeling, and storage according to company policies, keeping perishables at safe temperatures. They will monitor stock levels, prepare only the necessary food quantities, and return unused food items to storage while maintaining date and condition standards.
Supporting stewarding duties, including dish station breakdown and cleaning, might be required occasionally. The role contributes to controlling food costs by minimizing waste, losses, and usage per organizational policies. This position requires a flexible schedule to accommodate early morning, mid-day, and evening shifts to align with the 24/7 operational needs of the resort.
Candidates must have at least one year of culinary or related work experience, possess culinary knowledge, and demonstrate proficient knife skills and multitasking ability. Acquiring and maintaining a food handler’s safety permit is mandatory. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship; thus, applicants must have valid US work authorization.
The role offers competitive hourly compensation starting at $24.07, along with comprehensive benefits such as medical and dental insurance, complimentary accommodations at other Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, free employee meals, and 401(k) retirement plans. The Four Seasons brand encourages diversity and inclusivity in its hiring practices, welcoming applications from minorities, women, veterans, and individuals with disabilities. It is committed to equal employment opportunity and affirmative action for all qualified candidates.
