Job Description

This role is centered around delivering an exceptional customer experience in a food and beverage setting accompanying Porter’s office environments. The position requires preparing and serving both hot and cold beverages including coffee, blended coffee, and tea, often tailored to customer specifications. In addition, this role serves baked goods such as pastries and ensures that service stations and seating areas remain well-stocked and sanitized. The position entails managing customer transactions proficiently using POS systems, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation protocols. This role demands strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patrons, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to efficiently multitask in a busy environment.

The successful candidate will have completed training in food preparation and customer service and possess experience in hospitality or food service, ideally 1-2 years in a customer-facing role. A California Food Handler’s Permit is required, and knowledge of POS systems such as Toast, Square, or Shopify is a plus. The ideal hire will be self-motivated, capable of making sound judgments with minimal supervision, and able to thrive in a team-oriented culture. Job Requirements

  • Must successfully complete training in food preparation, food service skills, and customer service procedures
  • 1-2 years of experience in a customer-facing role, preferably within hospitality or food service
  • CA Food Handler's Permit required
  • excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills
  • excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work as a team with internal departments, external vendors, suppliers, and customers
  • self-motivated and able to make decisions and exercise prudent judgment with minimal guidance
  • knowledge of Microsoft Office programs with ability to learn in house programs
  • ability to follow all safe food handling procedures and sanitation practices
  • good memory to manage multiple orders simultaneously and recall faces, names, and preferences of frequent patrons
  • ability to serve customers quickly, efficiently, and kindly

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages such as coffee, tea, and blended coffee to patrons
  • customize orders accurately as requested
  • describe product details to customers in partnership with Onyx coffee
  • receive and process customer payments
  • serve prepared baked goods including pastries
  • ensure customer service stations are stocked with paper products and beverage items
  • clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, dishes, and work areas
  • clean and sanitize service and seating areas
  • routinely check temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, and heating equipment to ensure proper functioning
  • stock supplies or retail products and assist with inventory, ordering, or receiving products
  • perform other related duties as assigned
  • handle POS transactions and orders accurately
  • maintain a friendly and engaging attitude with customers and team members
