Wild Thyme Cafe & Market is a vibrant culinary destination nestled in the heart of Pasco County's first neighborhood farm. Known for its fresh, flavorful offerings, Wild Thyme Cafe brings a farm-to-table experience to every meal, serving up breakfast, coffee, shareables, and fine wines. This intimate neighborhood cafe is situated within the Angeline Welcome Center in Land O’ Lakes, Florida, providing a welcoming and cozy atmosphere for residents, realtors, and visitors alike. The cafe prides itself on a commitment to quality ingredients sourced locally and a menu that reflects the bounty of the surrounding farm. As a cornerstone of the community, Wild Thyme Cafe is more than just a place to eat; it's a gathering spot where people connect, unwind, and enjoy exceptional food and drink in a friendly environment.

MetroLagoons is seeking a dedicated Cafe Server for this unique position at Wild Thyme Cafe. The Cafe Server role is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a customer-focused environment and enjoys being part of a community hub. This position involves providing outstanding customer service by taking and serving orders, preparing a variety of beverages including both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and maintaining the overall dining area. The role also includes responsibilities as a Manager on Duty (MOD), where the Cafe Server will provide leadership and operational coverage in collaboration with the General Manager. This means stepping up to manage the cafe during shifts, ensuring smooth operations, compliance with food and beverage regulations, and maintaining the highest standards of guest satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, a professional demeanor, and excellent organizational skills to handle various tasks efficiently. Working at Wild Thyme Cafe is not only about serving food but also about creating memorable experiences for guests, recommending menu items based on customer preferences, and fostering a positive dining atmosphere. Responsibilities include restocking supplies, monitoring alcohol consumption to adhere to legal guidelines, opening and closing the cafe, and performing light maintenance tasks. Physical requirements include the ability to stand for extended periods, occasionally work outdoors, and lift up to 50 pounds. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar facility
  • Food and beverage safety certification (training provided if needed)
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work occasionally outdoors

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar facility (preferred)
  • Food/beverage safety certification (will train and provide as needed)
  • Professional manner, discretion, and appearance
  • Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Leadership experience a plus
  • Proven experience in performing light maintenance tasks, preferably in a similar setting
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work outdoors occasionally
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Job Duties

  • Provide exceptional customer service and promote positive guest experience
  • Prepare and serve both non-alcohol and alcoholic beverages for bar and restaurant guests
  • Interact with customers, take orders, and serve food and drinks
  • Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
  • Serve beverages such as canned beer, wine, sangria, smoothies, tea, lemonade, and coffee drinks
  • Check IDs to ensure appropriate customers meet legal drinking age
  • Monitor guest consumption of alcohol, following all company and state guidelines
  • Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
  • Comply with all food and beverage regulations
  • Provide leadership coverage as needed
  • Open and/or close cafe as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
