Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Maintain a valid Food Handler's Card at all times
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word or comparable programs
  • Proficiency with retail point-of-sale systems, preferably Square
  • Experience coaching, training, and mentoring teams
  • Knowledge of health department regulations
  • Experience in all floor positions: customer service, barista, and sandwich production
  • Ability to analyze profit and loss statements
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends and extra hours when necessary

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum three years experience managing in a restaurant or cafe environment
  • Significant front-of-house experience including customer service and barista skills
  • Knowledge of health department regulations related to food service
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word or comparable programs
  • Experience coaching, training, and mentoring teams
  • Ability to analyze financial reports and manage profitability
  • Enthusiasm for Open Book Management principles preferred
  • Pastry production experience is a plus

Job Duties

  • Oversee all cafe operations ensuring compliance with company standards and health regulations
  • Recruit, train, and develop cafe employees fostering a positive and productive work environment
  • Maximize sales and profitability through effective management and operational efficiency
  • Inspire and motivate team members to provide exceptional products and outstanding customer service
  • Manage scheduling including coordinating with Assistant Cafe Manager to ensure appropriate staffing coverage
  • Handle profit and loss statement analysis to monitor financial performance
  • Maintain proficiency with point-of-sale, HRIS, ATS, and payroll systems and adapt to new technologies
