The Cafe Manager at Daily Provisions plays a pivotal leadership role in the day-to-day operations and long-term success of the café. Working closely with the General Manager and other managerial staff, the Cafe Manager is responsible for overseeing both Front of House and Back of House teams, ensuring that every guest enjoys a consistently exceptional experience that blends culinary excellence with outstanding hospitality. The Manager’s responsibilities include fostering a welcoming and supportive work environment for all employees, guiding and educating the team on the standards of service and the beverage and kitchen programs, and maintaining the highest levels of operational excellence including cleanliness, inventory management, and compliance with health and labor regulations. The Cafe Manager champions and upholds company standards in human resources, payroll, and health department compliance, ensuring the café operates smoothly and efficiently. Job Requirements
- 2+ years management experience in a similar environment
- Bachelor’s Degree or certification in hospitality-related field or equivalent expertise gained from experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Understanding of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Holder of NYC DOHMH Food Protection Certificate
- Fluency in English required and Spanish preferred
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or certification in hospitality-related field preferred but not required
- Minimum 2 years of management experience in a similar environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Food Protection Certificate holder
- Fluency in English required, Spanish preferred
Job Duties
- Cultivate a culture of Enlightened Hospitality for all stakeholders that supports business objectives and growth
- Exhibit expert knowledge of beverage and kitchen stations
- Champion Enlightened Hospitality for guests for both in-store and digital orders to ensure exceptional experiences
- Maintain store excellence and cleanliness including inventory availability and staff familiarity with service procedures
- Provide continuous support to Front of House and Back of House staff and actively participate in the service cycle
- Ensure compliance with human resources policies, hold employees accountable, and manage disciplinary actions as necessary
- Oversee accurate and timely payroll processing according to business procedures
- Ensure Department of Labor and Health Department compliance relevant to operations
- Provide feedback and guidance fostering staff growth and development
- Seek opportunities for team expansion and recruitment
- Perform additional duties as assigned to meet team and operational goals
