The role of Café Manager at Urban Air St. Charles is a vital part of the guest experience, focusing on overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Urban Café within the adventure park. This position requires a proactive, hands-on leader dedicated to maintaining high-quality food preparation, outstanding customer service, and efficient team management in a fast-paced environment. As Café Manager, you will be crucial in ensuring that kitchen and service operations run smoothly, managing inventory, supporting team development, and maintaining strict hygiene and safety standards. Weekend availability, specifically on Saturday and Sunday, is mandatory due to peak visitor periods.

In this role, you will spend a significant portion of your time working alongside your team, preparing and serving food, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all guests. Strong leadership skills are essential, as you will be responsible for training staff, establishing clear performance standards, and fostering teamwork and professionalism. You will also play a critical role in inventory management, ensuring deliveries are accurately logged and storage methods minimize waste. Your ability to remain calm under pressure, communicate effectively, resolve guest concerns promptly, and uphold Urban Air’s standards will directly contribute to the overall guest satisfaction and operational success of the Urban Café. Job Qualifications

  • minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred
  • minimum of two (2) years’ previous F&B experience (quick service and/or restaurant experience)
  • 1-3 years’ management experience in the hospitality field preferred
  • must be available Friday-Saturday-Sunday-Monday
  • must have a current ServSafe or similar Food Handling Certification, or be willing to attain within the first 30 days of employment

Job Duties

  • support the proper execution of all processes, systems, and standards
  • ensure all deliveries are received correctly and logged
  • maintain effective inventory control, storage, and rotation to minimize wastage
  • manage the Urban Café Team, ensuring they always work to the expected standards
  • adhere to scheduled shifts and be willing to stay beyond when business or circumstances dictate
  • train the Urban Café Team in preparing the full menu and the front of house staff in preparing drinks and ready-to-eat foods to the consistently high standard required
  • establish and maintain a high standard for the Urban Café Team regarding punctuality, attendance, and attitude and ensure these standards are always maintained
  • establish and maintain a high standard and good example for the Urban Café Team regarding cleanliness and hygiene, including a regular deep clean schedule
  • maintain a clear, well-organized and easy-to-access Urban Café
  • handle guest concerns pertaining to the Urban Café
  • participate in regular staff meetings and training as and when required
  • other duties as tasked by General Manager
