The Cafe Manager position at Million Air is a vital role overseeing the entirety of operations within the company’s cafe facility. This individual will be responsible for managing day-to-day activities related to food service, customer relations, and team supervision within a professional kitchen environment. The Cafe Manager will utilize deep knowledge of menu items and company products to provide impeccable customer service internally to employees such as pilots and externally to visiting patrons. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Cafe Manager acts as a critical link between the kitchen staff, service team, and customer base, maintaining smooth, efficient, and high-quality operations.

This role requires strong leadership capabilities, excellent communication skills, and a robust understanding of food safety and culinary preparation. Responsibilities include greeting customers warmly, supervising cafe employees, developing and updating menus in collaboration with the General Manager, ordering and monitoring food supplies, and ensuring pricing structures reflect cost and quality standards. This position also entails opening and closing duties that cover food preparation and facility cleanliness. Moreover, the Cafe Manager will handle sales transactions, maintain an inviting dining area, and promptly address service failures or customer concerns.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Kitchen management experience preferred
  • Cooking/customer service experience preferably in the food service industry
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the facility

Job Duties

  • Responsible for the entire cafe operations
  • Greet customers in a friendly, professional manner
  • Supervise other employees in the cafe
  • Develop and maintain the menu in conjunction with the General Manager
  • Order all food and other products from the food service provider
  • Monitor food supplies and order replacement items as needed
  • Review food costs and recommend pricing to the General Manager
  • Complete knowledge of menu items and daily specials
  • Cafe opening and closing duties of food preparation and cleaning
  • Cook and prepare menu and daily special items
  • Process food sales using the cash register and POS machine
  • Abide by all standards established by the American National Standards Institute-Conference for Food Protection
  • Provide timely feedback to the company regarding service failures or customer concerns
  • Maintain a clean dining area and drink bar throughout the day
