The role of CafLEAD at Urban Air Columbus is a pivotal position responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Urban Air Caf. This role requires a hands-on approach, as much of the work involves preparing and serving food directly in the kitchen and service area. The CafLead oversees the shift responsibilities, ensuring that all Caf Team Members perform to the highest standards, delivering quality food and customer service with speed and efficiency.
The ideal candidate for the CafLead role must be able to work under pressure, keep a positive and professional attitude, and maintain a friendly demeanor with guests and staff. This leadership role involves training staff on menu preparation, drink making, and upholding cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the Caf. The CafLead also manages inventory, handles deliveries, and addresses guest concerns promptly, especially when the CafManager is unavailable.
This position offers an opportunity to develop strong leadership skills within a vibrant, interactive environment focused on fun and guest satisfaction. Job Qualifications
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred
- minimum of six months to one year of prior food and beverage experience in quick service and/or restaurant experience
- one year of leadership experience preferred
- must have a current ServSafe or similar food handling certification, or be willing to get one within the first 30 days of employment
Job Duties
- Support the proper execution of all processes, systems, and standards
- ensure all deliveries are received correctly and logged in the event the CafManager is not present at the time of delivery
- maintain storage and rotation to minimize wastage
- manage the CafTeam ensuring they always work to the expected standards
- adhere to scheduled shifts and have the willingness to stay beyond when business or circumstances dictate
- train CafTeam in preparing the full menu and the front of house staff in preparing drinks and ready-to-eat foods to the consistently high standard required
- set a high standard and good example for the CafTeam regarding punctuality, attendance, and attitude
- set a high standard and good example for the CafTeam regarding cleanliness and hygiene including a regular deep clean schedule
- maintain well-organized and easy-to-access Caf and storage areas
- handle guest concerns regarding the Caf in absence of the CafManager
- participate in regular staff meetings and training as and when required
