Job Description
LifeCafe is a dynamic food service establishment operating under the Life Time brand, known for its commitment to providing high-quality dining experiences within a health and wellness environment. LifeCafe typically caters to members who seek nutritious, fresh, and delicious menu offerings, aligning closely with Life Time's philosophy of promoting healthy living and holistic wellness. LifeCafe locations focus on delivering exceptional food quality combined with friendly, efficient service to foster a welcoming atmosphere for all guests. As part of the broader Life Time organization, LifeCafe benefits from a strong reputation, established operational systems, and a culture that emphasizes team development, member satisfaction, and operational excellence.
The LifeCafe Lead role is a pivotal hands-on leadership position responsible for overseeing the overall operations and performance of a LifeCafe location, especially those with lower monthly revenue volumes. This role requires a leader who is actively engaged on the floor, leading by example in "The Zone" to ensure superior execution in food preparation, hospitality standards, and operational efficiency. The LifeCafe Lead acts as a business owner within their location, managing critical aspects such as food quality, labor and cost controls, inventory management, scheduling, and payroll. Alongside operational duties, the LifeCafe Lead is deeply involved in team building by hiring, training, and coaching team members to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Operating in this role means balancing financial accountability with the goal of delivering outstanding member experiences. The LifeCafe Lead tracks key business drivers like food and labor costs and takes proactive measures to meet financial targets while maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant environment. Ensuring adherence to food safety protocols, security standards, and LifeCafe policies is fundamental to the position. Candidates suited for this role typically possess at least two years of management or leadership experience in food service, preferably in fast casual or full-service restaurant settings, and hold certifications such as ServSafe and CPR/AED.
This full-time position demands flexibility in scheduling, with shifts that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. The ideal candidate combines a strong operational mindset, systems orientation, and the ability to drive results through people. Educational backgrounds in culinary, hospitality, or business are advantageous and often complement the practical experience required to thrive in this role. LifeCafe Leads are expected to be role models within the team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and hospitality to enhance member satisfaction continuously.
Life Time is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace where every team member's unique contributions are valued. As an equal opportunity employer, Life Time ensures a fair recruitment and promotion process based on merit and qualifications, providing a supportive and equitable environment for all employees. Joining LifeCafe as a Lead offers a rewarding opportunity to develop leadership skills in a vibrant, customer-focused setting while contributing to the broader mission of enhancing health and well-being through exceptional dining experiences.
