The Urban Air Corpus Christi location is currently seeking a dedicated and dynamic Café Lead. This role is primarily responsible for overseeing the shift responsibilities at the Urban Air Café, ensuring smooth operations while guiding and supporting team members. The Café Lead position is hands-on, requiring significant time spent in the kitchen and service area. Responsibilities include cooking, preparing, and serving food efficiently while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor toward guests and staff. This role emphasizes speed and urgency without compromising quality or guest service.
As a Café Lead at Urban Air, you will be integral to maintaining high standards across all café operations. This includes supporting process execution, managing deliveries and storage to minimize wastage, and ensuring the café team consistently meets expected performance standards. The role involves training employees on food preparation, drink service, and hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. You will also handle guest concerns in the absence of the Café Manager, making this position essential for maintaining guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership qualities by motivating and empowering team members while aligning them with Urban Air’s vibrant culture—which balances professionalism with a fun, engaging atmosphere. Responsibilities extend beyond daily operations to include setting examples of punctuality, attendance, attitude, and cleanliness, including managing deep-clean schedules and ensuring a well-organized kitchen and storage. Participation in staff meetings and ongoing training initiatives is also part of the role.
This position requires flexibility to work various shifts, including days, nights, and weekends in a fast-paced and sometimes noisy environment. Physical demands include standing for long periods, moving throughout the facility, and lifting up to 30 pounds. The Café Lead role is suited for individuals with a passion for food service, team leadership, and delivering exceptional customer experiences in a vibrant entertainment setting.

Job Qualifications
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred
- minimum of six months to one year of prior food and beverage experience in quick service or restaurant environment
- one year of leadership experience preferred
- must have current ServSafe or similar food handling certification or be willing to obtain one within 30 days of employment
Job Duties
- Support the proper execution of all processes, systems, and standards
- ensure all deliveries are received correctly and logged in the absence of the Café Manager
- maintain storage and rotation to minimize wastage
- manage the Café Team ensuring adherence to expected standards
- adhere to scheduled shifts and stay beyond as necessary
- train the Café Team in preparing the full menu and front of house staff in preparing drinks and ready-to-eat foods
- set a high standard and serve as a role model regarding punctuality, attendance, attitude, cleanliness, and hygiene
- maintain organized and easily accessible café and storage areas
- handle guest concerns in the absence of the Café Manager
- participate in regular staff meetings and training
