Known for its chic wine bar, an extensive menu, and The Counter—an inviting spot for fresh pastries, coffee, gelato, and take-out orders—Cafe Hollywood offers an energetic ambiance that pays homage to the iconic 25-year history of Planet Hollywood. The role of Bartender at Cafe Hollywood is essential to maintaining the high standards of service and guest satisfaction that the restaurant is known for. Bartenders are responsible for mixing and serving drinks either directly to patrons or through the wait staff. The position requires vigilance in checking customer identification to ensure compliance with age restrictions for alcohol purchases, managing cash receipts accurately, and promoting responsible drinking behaviors to prevent excessive consumption. Bartenders are also tasked with maintaining cleanliness throughout the bar area, including glasses, utensils, equipment, and work surfaces. The position demands expertise in preparing cocktails, serving wine and beer, and providing light snacks or food items to bar patrons. Beyond drink preparation, bartenders help in ordering supplies, arranging displays to create an appealing environment, and occasionally addressing situations with unruly customers to maintain a safe and enjoyable atmosphere.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous bartending or related experience preferred
Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
Knowledge of mixing cocktails and serving alcoholic beverages
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to check IDs and comply with legal alcohol service regulations
Capability to work in a fast-paced, 24-hour environment
Physical ability to stand for extended periods
Must be at least 21 years of age

Job Duties

Mix and serve drinks to patrons, directly or through wait staff
Collect money for drinks served
Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
Balance cash receipts
Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers' excessive drinking by persuading customers to stop drinking or arranging transportation
Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment
Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons
Serve wine, bottled or draft beer
Clean bars, work areas, and tables
Mix ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks
Serve snacks or food items to customers seated at the bar
Order or requisition liquors and supplies
Ask customers who become loud and obnoxious to leave or physically remove them
Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks
Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays
Plan, organize, and control the operations of a cocktail lounge or bar
Supervise the work of bar staff and other bartenders
Prepare appetizers such as pickles, cheese, and cold meats
Check IDs before serving guests
