The role of a Café Team Member at Urban Air is central to maintaining a positive guest experience by delivering efficient service at the Urban Air Café. This position demands a dynamic individual who is comfortable working simultaneously in the kitchen and the service area, handling food preparation, cooking, cashiering, and guest interactions with great enthusiasm and a strong sense of urgency. The Café Team Member ensures that every guest encounter is pleasant, instructive, and professional, which helps build repeat clientele and enhances the overall reputation of the park. Responsibilities include engaging directly with guests to provide menu guidance and product recommendations, managing inventory and stock levels adequately, and maintaining high cleanliness and organization standards in the café and surroundings. This role necessitates multitasking in a fast-paced, often noisy environment while upholding all health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate is a team player who values discipline, accountability, and efficiency, capable of working autonomously as well as supporting fellow team members. Physical demands such as standing for extended periods, lifting moderately heavy items, and working variable shifts including nights and weekends are important considerations. Job Requirements

  • Have a friendly and engaging personality and is a good written and verbal communicator

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred
  • Previous restaurant/quick service experience preferred
  • Basic math skills of adding and subtracting required
  • ServSafe or similar food handling certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate the highest standards of guest relations and care when assisting guests at the counter
  • Give advice, guidance and recommendations on products and menu selection to guests to ensure a positive experience and repeat business
  • Ensure adequate stock levels of supplies and consumables for Café area
  • Manage queues and exceed guest expectations
  • upsell to maximize profit
  • Keep Café and surrounding areas tidy and clean
  • this includes, but is not limited to, table clearing, removing and washing dishes, and taking out trash
  • Handle guest complaints in the first instance and report feedback to the Leadership Team
  • Work within established guidelines and operating procedures
  • Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items
  • Properly cook and store food items at appropriate temperatures
  • Rotate stock items as per established procedure
  • Ensure compliance with all health code regulations
  • Maintain clear, well-organized kitchen and storage areas
  • Participate in regular staff meetings and training, as required
  • Other duties as tasked by Leadership
