The current opportunity is for a full-time onsite leadership role in the Café located in Burr Ridge, IL, focusing on driving profitability, associate engagement, and an exceptional guest experience. This position involves overseeing all aspects of the Café's operations including retail sales, product displays, front of house service, food preparation, quality control, and inventory management. The manager will be instrumental in achieving sales targets through upselling, promotional events, and maintaining enticing retail displays. They will ensure associates are well-trained in sales techniques and guest service standards to maintain consistent quality and guest satisfaction.
Operational excellence is a key component of the role, requiring control and oversight of expenses within budget, precise inventory management for retail and food items, and accurate payroll management with necessary approvals. The manager will also be engaged in associate management, including scheduling, coaching, mentoring, performance reviews, and adherence to company policies. Motivating and holding the team accountable while fostering a positive work environment is essential.
Guest service responsibilities include maintaining high satisfaction scores, responding to feedback proactively, ensuring cleanliness and visual appeal of the store, and providing frontline coaching to staff. Culinary operations duties require overseeing food preparation to culinary standards, managing production according to forecasted needs, standardizing recipes, and maintaining consistency even in the manager's absence. The role also involves culinary safety advocacy and completion of safety reports when required.
Administrative duties include utilizing department systems such as Infogenesis, managing standard operating procedures, and maintaining ordering and inventory procedures. The role works weekdays and weekends between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm, paying an hourly rate starting at $19.00, adjusted based on experience and education. The successful candidate must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship and will benefit from day one access to medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plans with company matching.
This position is ideal for individuals with leadership experience in retail or food and beverage, basic accounting or inventory knowledge, and culinary education at the associate or college level. Food manager certification or ability to obtain within six months is mandatory. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- Retail or food and beverage leadership experience
- Associate or college degree with emphasis or secondary in culinary
- Relevant coursework in responsible beverage, sanitation, supervision, and teamwork
- Food manager certification or completion within six months of employment
- Understanding of menu pricing and development
- Basic accounting and inventory principles knowledge preferred
Job Duties
- Work to achieve sales targets through upselling, contributing to and executing promotions and events, maintaining retail and merchandise displays
- Ensure associates are trained on upselling techniques and sales targets
- Control operating expenses in line with budget and forecast
- Track, maintain, and order inventory for retail, merchandise, office supplies, food and beverage
- Approve invoices and manage payroll submissions
- Conduct engagement initiatives and create associate schedules
- Coach, mentor, and train associates, hold performance reviews, and maintain positive workforce relationships
- Monitor guest satisfaction scores and guest comments, provide coaching on service standards
- Oversee food preparation, standardize recipes and menu costs, maintain culinary SOPs
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and reporting
- Utilize departmental systems for reporting, budgeting, and inventory management
- Maintain cleanliness and appealing store appearance
- Plan and execute in-store events
