The position of Cafeteria Cook at Bass Pro Shops Corporate Headquarters entails a dynamic and multifaceted role within the Clearwater Cafe. This position involves preparing and cooking various food items in alignment with a weekly menu, ensuring high quality and customer satisfaction. The cook will work across multiple stations, including the grill, deli sandwiches counter, pizza/pasta station, and salad bar, showcasing versatility and adaptability in food preparation and service. A vital part of this role is to prepare breakfast and lunch meals and serve food to employees and their guests, emphasizing excellent customer service skills.

The Cafeteria Cook must adhere strictly to food safety principles and regulations, including compliance with FDA and local food safety guidelines. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the work area and equipment is a continual responsibility throughout each shift. This role requires the ability to multitask efficiently, function under pressure, and contribute positively to a team environment. Employees in this role are expected to complete daily prep lists and follow instructions from the Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of cooking experience preferably in a restaurant or cafeteria setting
  • Basic understanding of or ability to learn sanitation and regulations for workplace safety
  • Basic understanding of or ability to learn food handling techniques, preparation, and cooking procedures
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to maintain personal cleanliness

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Job Duties

  • Prepares and cooks various items according to the weekly menu
  • Cleans, cuts, and prepares fruits and vegetables to be used in recipes and for the salad bar
  • Completes tasks outlined by daily prep list and the Chef’s instructions
  • Apportions and serves food to customers (employees and guests) in a safe manner
  • Ensures the cleanliness and organization of equipment and work area by routinely cleaning and inspecting throughout shift
  • Complies with FDA and local food safety guidelines
  • All other duties as assigned
