Sedano's Supermarkets is a well-established grocery store chain headquartered in Miami, Florida, known for its commitment to providing quality products and excellent customer service. With multiple locations serving diverse communities, Sedano's prides itself on its dedication to customer satisfaction, product variety, and maintaining a safe and friendly shopping environment. The company embodies strong values centered around community engagement, safety, and maintaining high standards throughout its stores. Whether it's fresh produce, bakery items, or prepared foods, Sedano's aims to meet the needs of its customers while adhering to all relevant laws and company policies.
This part-time position at Sedano's Supermarkets is located at Store #21, 13794 S.W. 152 Street, Miami, and offers flexible shifts either in the morning or afternoon, catering to those seeking a balanced work schedule. The role of Food Server in the Cafeteria is crucial in maintaining the smooth operation of the food department. The primary responsibility involves attending to customer requests for a variety of food items such as espresso, baked goods, sandwiches, and other beverages offered within the store.
In this role, employees must perform their duties consistently with Sedano's core goals, values, and operating principles, ensuring their work aligns with all legal regulations and company policies. The position emphasizes customer service excellence, safety protocols, and upholding the cleanliness and organization of the store environment. Employees are expected to maintain a friendly and professional attitude, perform food preparation and handling safely and hygienically, and assist in maintaining inventory levels by restocking as needed.
The Food Server also plays an active role in maintaining safety within the store by securing hazardous areas immediately and reporting to store management as necessary. This involves a combination of multitasking duties such as making sandwiches and espresso, handling payments, cleaning utensils, and ensuring that the work area meets industry standards for cleanliness and safety. Additionally, the Food Server will be involved in secondary tasks such as assisting in the hot foods area, supporting kitchen operations, managing supply orders, and maintaining equipment.
This position requires good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish, reflecting Sedano's diverse customer base. Physical demands include the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, use hand and arm motions repetitively, and occasionally lift or move departmental food products. The role is ideally suited for individuals who are punctual, responsible, and eager to contribute to a dynamic retail food service environment where customer interaction and food safety are paramount.
Training is an essential component, including a current food safety training certificate, which must be renewed every three years. The store provides ongoing department and store meetings to ensure that employees stay informed and engaged, promoting a collaborative workplace culture. This role not only supports Sedano's commitment to quality and customer care but also offers valuable experience for those interested in food service employment with flexible scheduling and opportunities for growth within a respected supermarket chain.
