Job Description

Neighborhood Health Association (NHA) is Northwest Ohio's largest community health center system. The CafE9 Attendant/Job Coach role is a full-time position based at the Nourish CafE9 located within Nexus Health Care. This role uniquely combines service duties within the cafE9 environment with workforce development responsibilities through the Job Readiness program. The program is focused on delivering soft skills, job-specific skills, customer service training, and on-the-job coaching to individuals seeking to improve their employment opportunities. The CafE9 Attendant/Job Coach plays a pivotal role in equipping clients with the knowledge and confidence required to succeed in the workforce. This includes comprehensive training on all cafE9 positions as well as providing one-on-one support and mentoring throughout the program.

The position operates Monday through Friday for 37.5 hours weekly, with no evening, weekend, or holiday shifts, offering a stable and consistent schedule. Key responsibilities include cashier duties, food preparation such as sandwich making, serving food and beverages, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in compliance with local health department requirements. Beyond the operational aspects of the cafE9, the role demands passion for coaching, the ability to deliver structured training sessions, monitor client progress, and tailor support to individual needs. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in retail or food service, as well as some background in training or workforce development. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for creating a positive client experience and fostering a supportive learning environment.

Job Requirements

  • 1-year retail and food service experience required
  • previous direct training experience or classroom training experience in workforce development or a related field preferred

  • must be able to lift 60 pounds on occasion
  • must show initiative, independent thinking and use sound judgment in the absence of specific orders
