Job Description

Sam's Club is a leading membership warehouse club offering members exceptional value on a wide selection of quality products and services. With over 600 locations across the United States, Sam's Club prides itself on providing a unique shopping experience that emphasizes both convenience and savings. As a subsidiary of Walmart Inc., Sam's Club benefits from the extensive resources and global reach of one of the world's largest retailers, ensuring that associates are part of a dynamic, supportive work environment with ample opportunities for growth and development.

The role in question is a prepared food team member position at the Sam's Club location in Brownsville, Texas. This position involves a diverse set of responsibilities centered around food preparation, merchandising, team collaboration, and customer service. As a prepared food team member, you will be tasked with maintaining up-to-date knowledge of product specifications related to prepared food merchandise, preparing food according to precise item specifications, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards and sanitation guidelines. This role requires operating and maintaining equipment, managing inventory effectively, and preparing for future production needs including seasonal adjustments. Adaptability is crucial, as the position also involves leveraging digital technology to enhance sales and improve the member shopping experience. You will utilize hand-held tools to make informed business decisions regarding production, ordering, and quality control, keeping the member's needs at the forefront of your daily activities.

In addition to technical skills, the role demands a strong commitment to teamwork and leadership by example. Being an owner of your area means taking responsibility for stocking, rotating merchandise, monitoring quality and date control standards, eliminating waste, and delivering exemplary member service. You will be asked to acknowledge members, assist them with purchasing decisions, and resolve any issues they may have. As a talent ambassador, you will promote a respectful, supportive, and team-oriented workplace culture while also assisting in talent development and overcoming operational roadblocks.

Sam's Club offers competitive pay ranging from $17.00 to $25.00 per hour depending on location and experience, with potential additional premiums based on work schedules, facility, season, or specific job duties. The company also provides generous benefits such as comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, and vision plans, financial benefits like 401(k) and stock purchase programs, and paid time off including parental leave and bereavement. Furthermore, associates benefit from Walmart's Live Better U program, which offers fully paid education opportunities from high school completion to bachelor's degrees and beyond, supporting continuous personal and professional growth.

This full-time or part-time opportunity in the food service division is ideal for candidates who are at least 18 years old and committed to completing required training and assessments promptly. Although food safety certification and food handler certification are preferred, they are not mandatory to apply. The Brownsville location emphasizes a drug-free workplace to ensure safety and productivity for all associates. Overall, this role provides a meaningful chance to develop skills in a supportive environment, contribute to a vibrant team, and deliver outstanding service to Sam's Club members every day.
