This position at Sam's Club focuses on the prepared foods merchandise area, where you will play a vital role in ensuring that food items meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and presentation. As a team member, you’ll be responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of product specifications, assisting with planning for future and seasonal productions, and adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation guidelines. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to educate peers on products, tools, and best practices while leveraging digital tools to improve sales, customer experience, and operational efficiency. Your role will involve hands-on food preparation as well as using handheld technology to make critical business decisions that align with customer needs.

The role requires a proactive owner mindset where you’ll manage inventory, eliminate waste, rotate products to ensure freshness, and provide excellent member service by recognizing and addressing member needs. Furthermore, you will serve as a talent ambassador by promoting a respectful and supportive team culture and helping others overcome challenges. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • maintain up-to-date knowledge of product specifications related to prepared food merchandise
  • collaborate with cross-functional teams and educate other associates on tools, tasks and resources
  • communicate effectively with team members

  • prepare food according to item specifications
  • plan for future and mass productions including seasonality
  • adhere to food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, cold chain compliance and inventory management

  • use handheld technology for production, ordering, receiving, training and quality control
  • drive performance of the prepared food area including stocking, rotating merchandise and ensuring quality and date control standards
  • eliminate waste and provide member service by acknowledging members and assisting with purchasing decisions
  • resolve member issues and concerns
  • act as a brand advocate by developing, influencing, and inspiring others
  • comply with company policies, procedures and ethics standards
  • complete work assignments using policies, data and resources
