Job Description

Sam's Club is a leading membership-only retail warehouse club operating in the United States, providing a broad range of merchandise from groceries to electronics at competitive prices. As a subsidiary of Walmart Inc., Sam's Club is known for its commitment to offering high-quality goods and exceptional member services. The company prides itself on creating a workplace culture that emphasizes respect, teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement, aiming to serve both its customers and employees with excellence.

Sam's Club is currently seeking dedicated individuals to join their team as Prepared Food Associates at their Round Rock, Texas location. This role is integral in maintaining the quality and availability of prepared food merchandise, ensuring that members receive freshly made, safe, and appealing food products. The Prepared Food Associate position offers competitive hourly wages ranging from $18.00 to $26.00 per hour, with potential additional premiums based on shifts, specific work performed, or seasonal demands, giving employees opportunities to increase their earnings. Sam's Club also provides a wide range of benefits designed to support the health, well-being, and professional development of their associates.

The Prepared Food Associate will be responsible for being a knowledgeable team member who maintains an up-to-date understanding of product specifications related to prepared foods. The role demands collaboration across various teams to educate and support colleagues in using tools and resources essential for efficient operations. Communication and flexibility are key attributes for this position, as the associate may be required to work in different areas depending on the needs of the business. Beyond teamwork, the associate acts as an expert in food preparation, strictly adhering to product specifications and safety standards while planning for future and mass production needs, including the preparation for seasonality. Mastery of food safety protocols, sanitation, cold chain compliance, and inventory management is mandatory.

Leveraging technology is another vital part of the role, where associates use handheld digital tools to manage production decisions, merchandise ordering, receipt of online orders, and quality control. Adapting to new technologies and promoting their use among fellow team members is encouraged to enhance operational efficiency and member satisfaction.

Ownership and accountability are expected attributes of the Prepared Food Associate. Responsibilities include driving the performance of their assigned areas by stocking and rotating merchandise, ensuring quality control and date compliance, and reducing waste. Providing excellent member service is at the core of the role, which includes greeting members, understanding their needs, assisting with purchases, managing payment types, locating merchandise, and resolving issues promptly.

Additionally, the Prepared Food Associate serves as a talent ambassador, championing the brand values and fostering a respectful, supportive, and collaborative team environment. This includes mentoring and helping team members overcome challenges, supporting training initiatives, and contributing to an inclusive workplace culture.

The company strongly adheres to policies emphasizing ethics, integrity, and fairness, encouraging associates to communicate openly using the Open Door Policy and to execute business processes with accuracy and compliance. Associates work together with managers, co-workers, customers, and other stakeholders to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, communicate progress effectively, and embrace change constructively.

Sam's Club offers more than just a job; it offers career growth opportunities, with programs such as Live Better U which provides company-paid education benefits including high school completion, bachelor's degrees, English language learning, and certificate programs. The comprehensive benefits package includes medical, vision, and dental coverage; financial benefits such as 401(k), stock purchase options, and life insurance; paid time off encompassing vacation, parental leave, and more; and other benefits like disability coverage, company discounts, military leave pay, and adoption and surrogacy reimbursements.
