The role of a Prepared Food Team Member at Sam's Club is pivotal in delivering an outstanding shopping experience to members. This position focuses on maintaining up-to-date knowledge of food product specifications and preparation techniques, ensuring food safety and quality. Team members collaborate across departments, sharing insights and contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement. They operate and sanitize food preparation equipment, manage inventory, and plan for seasonal product variations. Utilizing digital tools is integral to the role, as members leverage handheld technology to make immediate decisions related to production, ordering, and quality control, aimed at enhancing sales and customer service.

The Prepared Food Team Member is also responsible for driving performance in their area through effective stocking, rotating merchandise, and enforcing quality and date control standards while minimizing waste. Professionalism and a member-first mindset are essential, as team members assist customers with their purchasing decisions, handle payment types, and resolve any concerns or issues. Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to successfully complete all job required trainings and assessments within prescribed time period

  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform food preparation tasks

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food safety certification preferred
  • Food handler certification preferred
  • Previous experience in food service or prepared food merchandise preferred
  • Ability to operate and maintain food preparation equipment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic proficiency with digital tools and technology
  • Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and inventory control
