Job Description

Capital One Financial is a diversified banking institution widely recognized for its innovation in the financial services industry. Distinguished by a strong commitment to customer service and digital transformation, Capital One aims to redefine traditional banking by providing accessible, customer-centric solutions. This particular opportunity is based at the West County Center, where the company operates a Café environment designed to blend community engagement with modern banking services. The Café Ambassador role is a critical part of Capital One's mission to change banking for good, emphasizing personal connection over transactional interactions.

The Café Ambassador acts as a high-end service specialist and digital banking guide, fostering community and customer relationships in a lively, welcoming space that doubles as a local coffee shop but distinctly avoids traditional teller or barista roles. Instead of transactional service, this role stresses educational interaction, helping customers navigate and master Capital One's digital ecosystem and mobile banking tools, thereby bridging the gap between technology and human connection. The ambassador serves as a brand advocate, fostering genuine conversations about Capital One's products and services to ensure a meaningful and supportive guest experience without the pressure of sales quotas.

The position involves facilitating community events, supporting financial health initiatives, and acting as a problem solver and customer advocate who resolves issues within compliance guidelines. This dynamic role demands flexibility, as ambassadors are mobile throughout the Café and possibly other nearby locations, contributing actively to the energetic atmosphere and customer engagement. The ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude, adaptability to change, strong communication skills, and an ability to handle escalated customer concerns with professionalism and care.

Capital One invests heavily in employee development and well-being, offering inclusive benefits that cover medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance starting on day one. Additional benefits include paid time off, education assistance, a robust 401(k) matching program, and mental health support, underscoring the company’s commitment to nurturing both professional growth and personal wellness. This role offers a competitive salary range of $47,840 - $55,016 annually for the Des Peres, MO location, and the possibility of flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Joining Capital One as a Café Ambassador means working in an innovative, customer-focused culture where each day presents the opportunity to facilitate impactful community interactions and help shape the future of banking by creating a space where technology and personal service converge.
