Job Description

Capital One Financial Corporation is a diversified bank that offers a broad array of financial products and services to consumers, small businesses, and commercial clients. Known for its commitment to innovation and customer-centric approach, Capital One has established itself as a leader in the financial services industry, consistently striving to change banking for good. The company operates uniquely with its Cafés, which blend technology and human interaction to create vibrant community hubs rather than traditional banking branches.

The Café Ambassador role at Capital One’s Anacostia location is an innovative and community-focused position designed to bridge the gap between digital financial services and human connection. As a Café Ambassador, you become the face of Capital One’s mission in a relaxed, modern environment that serves as both a local coffee shop and a welcoming community space. This role emphasizes authentic engagement over transactional interactions, deviating from the conventional teller model of banking. It offers a high-energy and dynamic work setting where you proactively connect with guests, guide them through digital banking tools, and facilitate meaningful community engagement.

In this position, you won’t be behind a desk or confined to a teller line; instead, you will move throughout the Café, guiding customers on the use of mobile banking technologies and resolving technical challenges. You will act as a brand advocate who embodies Capital One’s mission by fostering a welcoming atmosphere and serving as a resource for guests seeking financial and technological guidance. The role also involves hosting and supporting local events that promote financial health, reinforcing Capital One’s commitment to purposeful community impact.

Your success will not be measured by sales quotas or high-pressure tactics but by the quality of your connections and your ability to support customers through empathetic problem-solving and effective issue resolution. Handling escalated situations with professionalism and calmness is a crucial part of the job, supported by training and resources to help you succeed. You will serve as a culture carrier, fostering an inclusive, supportive environment for all guests, and embracing flexibility and adaptability as part of the fast-paced Café atmosphere.

Capital One offers a competitive salary range for this full-time role, from $52,624 to $57,408 annually for candidates working in Washington, DC. The position requires a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and offers opportunities for professional development and growth within a company that values diversity, inclusion, and inclusivity. Joining Capital One as a Café Ambassador means becoming part of a team that is dedicated not just to banking but to empowering communities through innovative, human-centered service.

The company provides robust benefits from day one, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, education assistance, a 401(k) match up to 7.5%, paid parental leave, mental health support, and other valuable perks designed to support your overall well-being. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about technology, service, and community-building, and who want to be part of a forward-thinking financial institution that prioritizes the guest experience and the human element in banking.
