We are currently seeking enthusiastic and motivated cafe workers to join our team at Nakoma Golf Club's pool facility. This role is integral to the smooth operation of the poolside cafe, ensuring that members and guests receive exceptional service in a friendly and efficient manner. The cafe worker will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, beverage service, and operating point-of-sale (POS) systems, all while maintaining cleanliness and organization in the workspace.

As a cafe worker, you will prepare menu items and operate specialized equipment such as espresso machines and frozen beverage makers. Your responsibilities extend to processing orders through our POS system accurately, running food and drinks to members on the pool deck, and cooperating with team members to support event setup and swim meet preparations. This role requires a high degree of multitasking to manage busy periods at the pool, where maintaining attentive customer service and operational efficiency is crucial.

Applicants should have weekend and holiday availability, especially those who can work through Labor Day, as these candidates will be given hiring priority. The position requires a minimum commitment of three shifts per week during the pool season. Please note that operation hours are contingent on weather conditions and pool attendance, and shifts may be reduced or cancelled on short notice.

While prior experience in restaurants, cafes, or country clubs is advantageous, it is not mandatory. The essential qualities for success in this role include a willingness to learn, proactive engagement, and strong communication skills to ask questions and seek guidance when needed. You must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to attentively handle multiple tasks during peak hours with great attention to detail.

Important responsibilities also include adherence to safe food handling practices, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards, accurately operating all equipment and POS systems, and supporting opening and closing duties. Since alcoholic beverages may be served, candidates must be 18 years or older at the start of the season to comply with legal requirements.
