The role of a Cabana Server at Cowabunga Vegas is an essential position within the Food and Beverage Department’s Bars and Cabanas team. This role involves providing outstanding personalized service to guests who reserve cabanas for the day. Cabana Servers are cross-trained in both bartender and cabana server duties and assist as runners and barbacks when necessary, ensuring seamless service throughout the park. The position requires greeting guests warmly, taking and delivering orders promptly, and maintaining clean, organized, and well-stocked cabanas. Cabana Servers are expected to be guest-focused, detail-oriented, and proactive in anticipating and meeting guest needs, all while contributing to the fun and engaging atmosphere Cowabunga Vegas is known for.

This full-time position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, sometimes under various weather conditions, including direct sunlight and high temperatures. Cabana Servers have a critical role in ensuring compliance with health, alcohol, and food service regulations, maintaining proper product rotation, and supporting sales initiatives by being knowledgeable about the menu items, specialty cocktails, beers, and liquors available. Additionally, the role involves collaboration with leadership to identify and resolve operational issues and contributing to the cleanliness and setup of the cabana areas before opening. Job Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older
Must have or obtain a valid Food Handler’s permit and TAM certification
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
May be required to lift 25-50 lbs
May be required to work in various weather conditions, including direct sunlight, high temperatures, or rain
Must be able to multitask and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to communicate in a positive and professional manner and work well with others

Job Qualifications

Experience in food and beverage service
Knowledge of point-of-sale systems
Ability to verify identification for alcohol sales
Strong customer service skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food and beverage
Basic understanding of inventory and product rotation principles

Job Duties

Provide outstanding customer service at Cowabunga Vegas
Enthusiastically greet cabana guests and escort them to their designated cabanas
Serve assigned cabana guests by taking orders, delivering food and beverages, answering questions, and providing timely, Cowabunga-friendly service throughout their visit
Take and enter cabana guest orders using the point-of-sale system in accordance with Cowabunga Vegas procedures, including verifying IDs for all guests appearing under the age of 35 when purchasing alcoholic beverages
Complete daily restocking and cleaning tasks assigned by departmental leadership, as well as weekly deep cleaning tasks
Ensure products are fresh and that FIFO (first in, first out) is followed to maintain proper product rotation
Ensure timely delivery of checks, receipts and accurately process cabana guest payments
Promptly close out cabana tabs and thoroughly clean cabanas after guests depart so they are available for same-day resale
Ensure assigned cabana areas are fully prepared before opening by completing daily power washing, resetting furniture, and stocking all required items
Promote ongoing sales initiatives
Maintain knowledge of all food and beverage items available for purchase, including on-site offerings, cabana-only menu items, specialty cocktails, beers, and liquors served, and assemble items when appropriate
Ensure compliance with all Health Department, TAM, and local (city and county) food and alcohol regulations while maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment
Comply with all Pyek Group and Cowabunga Vegas policies and procedures
Maintain knowledge of point-of-sale systems, pool safes, and relevant health, alcohol, and food service laws and regulations
Proactively identify operational and equipment issues and collaborate with departmental leadership to resolve them when appropriate
Embody Cowabunga Vegas’s moment making keys of intentionality, Cowabunga-friendliness, safety, cleanliness, and fun throughout all departments
Assist with additional responsibilities, roles, departments, or park locations as needed
