Cowabunga Vegas is a premier water park destination recognized for providing guests with thrilling water attractions, exceptional customer experiences, and a vibrant atmosphere that combines fun with safety and cleanliness. Owned and operated by the Pyek Group, the destination has garnered a reputation for its family-friendly environment and high-quality service standards. Situated in Las Vegas, Nevada, Cowabunga Vegas serves both locals and tourists, promising memorable moments through its unique blend of entertainment and hospitality. The role of Cabana Server at Cowabunga Vegas is an integral part of the Food and Beverage Department’s Bars and Cabanas team. This versatile position requires cross-training in bartending and serving cabanas, with additional duties as a runner and barback to support seamless daily operations. The Cabana Server is responsible for providing an exceptional, personalized experience for guests who reserve cabanas. This includes warmly greeting guests, escorting them to their designated cabanas, and offering prompt service by taking and delivering food and beverage orders. The position demands attention to detail to ensure cabanas remain clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout the day.

Cabana Servers at Cowabunga Vegas must be proactive, guest-focused, and consistently committed to delivering a Good-Clean-Fun experience. This encompasses more than just service; it involves maintaining a professional, friendly demeanor while adhering to all health and safety regulations. The Cabana Server role is fast-paced and requires excellent multitasking capabilities as well as the ability to operate point-of-sale systems efficiently while verifying legal drinking age compliance when serving alcoholic beverages.

This position is ideal for individuals who thrive on creating memorable guest experiences, working collaboratively with team members, and contributing to the overall success of the food and beverage operation. The Cabana Server also plays a part in daily operational tasks like restocking, power washing, resetting furniture, and following FIFO (first in, first out) protocols to maintain product freshness. Beyond routine duties, Cabana Servers should be prepared to assist in other departmental roles or locations as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must have or obtain a valid Food Handler’s permit and TAM certification
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • May be required to lift 25-50 lbs
  • May be required to work in various weather conditions, including direct sunlight, high temperatures, or rain
  • Must be able to multitask and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to communicate in a positive and professional manner and work well with others

Job Duties

  • Provide outstanding customer service at Cowabunga Vegas
  • Enthusiastically greet cabana guests and escort them to their designated cabanas
  • Serve assigned cabana guests by taking orders, delivering food and beverages, answering questions, and providing timely, Cowabunga-friendly service throughout their visit
  • Take and enter cabana guest orders using the point-of-sale system in accordance with Cowabunga Vegas procedures, including verifying IDs for all guests appearing under the age of 35 when purchasing alcoholic beverages
  • Complete daily restocking and cleaning tasks assigned by departmental leadership, as well as weekly deep cleaning tasks
  • Ensure products are fresh and that FIFO (first in, first out) is followed to maintain proper product rotation
  • Ensure timely delivery of checks, receipts and accurately process cabana guest payments
  • Promptly close out cabana tabs and thoroughly clean cabanas after guests depart so they are available for same-day resale
  • Ensure assigned cabana areas are fully prepared before opening by completing daily power washing, resetting furniture, and stocking all required items
  • Promote ongoing sales initiatives
  • Maintain knowledge of all food and beverage items available for purchase, including on-site offerings, cabana-only menu items, specialty cocktails, beers, and liquors served, and assemble items when appropriate
  • Ensure compliance with all Health Department, TAM, and local (city and county) food and alcohol regulations while maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment
  • Comply with all Pyek Group and Cowabunga Vegas policies and procedures
  • Maintain knowledge of point-of-sale systems, pool safes, and relevant health, alcohol, and food service laws and regulations
  • Proactively identify operational and equipment issues and collaborate with departmental leadership to resolve them when appropriate
  • Embody Cowabunga Vegas’s moment making keys of intentionality, Cowabunga-friendliness, safety, cleanliness, and fun throughout all departments
  • Assist with additional responsibilities, roles, departments, or park locations as needed
