Job Requirements
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools used in plumbing work
- Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally lift up to 100 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb throughout the workday
- Comfortable working on ladders, scaffolding, and lifts
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Visual and hearing ability with or without accommodation to read plans, complete inspections, and communicate effectively
Job Qualifications
- Active Journeyman Plumber license
- Five or more years of plumbing management experience or equivalent education and experience
- Two or more years of people leadership experience with a track record of building strong, productive teams
- Strong technical knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and industry standards
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and technical documentation
- Sales or customer service experience preferred
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and hold teams accountable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Results-driven, proactive, and solution-oriented
- Calm, consistent leadership style, even in high-pressure situations
Job Duties
- Build, lead, and manage a team of plumbers supporting residential and commercial installation, repair, and maintenance work
- Plan and oversee daily operations, including scheduling, job assignments, technical support, and prioritization of service demand
- Set and enforce standards for performance, quality, safety, training, and policy compliance
- Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and develop plumbing staff to meet business growth and workload needs
- Partner with dispatch to balance labor capacity with customer demand
- Own department performance, including budgets, revenue, margins, and operational goals
- Review work orders, invoices, and time reports to ensure job profitability
- Collaborate with the HVAC Service Manager to support lead generation, cross-selling, maintenance agreements, and larger project estimates
- Manage larger installations and projects from planning through startup and turnover, coordinating technicians and subcontractors as needed
- Stay current on plumbing products, codes, and best practices
- ensure ongoing technical training for the team
- Perform additional duties as needed to support efficient department operations
