The institute is committed to equal opportunity and diversity, ensuring all students and staff are supported in a fair and welcoming community. As part of its commitment to student success, DigiPen offers various student employment opportunities enabling students to gain valuable work experience on campus.

Bytes Cafe & Lounge, a key service facility within DigiPen's campus, plays a prominent role in providing high-quality food service and a welcoming social hub for students, faculty, and staff. The position of Bytes Student Team Member, available for the academic year from September 2, 2025, through August 28, 2026, is an exciting opportunity for current DigiPen students who want to develop their customer service skills and contribute positively to the campus atmosphere. Reporting to Dustin Nick, the role offers a wage of $17.25 per hour and involves working up to 20 hours per week, making it an excellent part-time job for students balancing coursework and work responsibilities.

Student team members at Bytes will be responsible for serving hot food, maintaining a clean and organized food line and student store, processing customer orders through POS terminals, restocking items like drinks and snacks, and engaging guests with a friendly attitude. The role requires strong communication skills and a service-oriented mindset. Although no prior experience is needed, thorough training will be provided, and personal protective equipment including non-slip shoes and uniforms will be supplied. In addition, employees receive one meal per shift, supporting their nutritional needs while working.

Applicants must be matriculated DigiPen students in good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 2.5, although exceptions may be considered through an academic waiver process. Additionally, student workers must reside within the State of Washington and are not allowed to work during scheduled or canceled class times. Obtaining a Washington food handler's card within the first week of employment is required, with DigiPen covering associated costs.
