Job Description

The Vendue is a distinctive world-class hotel located in the heart of the French Quarter, Charleston. Renowned not only for its hospitality but also as a massive curated art gallery featuring over 200 pieces, The Vendue offers a unique blend of culture, creativity, and luxury. Positioned as a trendsetter in the hospitality industry, The Vendue prides itself on breaking away from traditional service models by infusing every guest's experience with flair, showmanship, and a touch of moxie. This vibrant environment combines the sophistication of fine art with the warmth of Southern hospitality, creating an unmatched atmosphere for guests seeking both comfort and cultural enrichment.

The role of the Assistant for the Complete Experience (ACE) at The Vendue is a pivotal position designed to elevate every guest's journey from arrival to departure. The ACE is far more than an assistant; they are the personal curator of a guest’s entire stay, delivering highly personalized, anticipatory service that anticipates guests' needs even before they are expressed. This role is crafted for an individual who is polished, proactive, and possesses a deep appreciation for both hospitality and the arts. The ACE is responsible for making each guest feel like a VIP through thoughtful gestures, attention to detail, and consistent delivery of the highest standard of service. From assisting with luggage upon arrival to meticulously preparing rooms with tailored amenities and the perfect ambiance, the ACE sets the tone for an exceptional stay.

As an integral team member, the ACE curates the guest experience by managing everything from in-room dining requests to crafting stunning food and beverage presentations. This role also demands a keen eye for detail through providing evening turndown services and expertly handling any guest concerns with professionalism and creative problem-solving. Given The Vendue's identity as an art gallery, the ACE participates in the artistic life of the hotel by assisting with the installation and de-installation of the constantly evolving art collection. This enhances the guest experience by blending art appreciation seamlessly with hospitality.

Ideal candidates for this position will have at least two years of guest-facing experience and a high school diploma, with hospitality or art degrees considered a notable advantage. They are expected to be tech-savvy, comfortable using systems such as Opera and Micros, as well as iPads to facilitate smooth operations. The location at 19 Vendue Range offers breathtaking proximity to Waterfront Park and the City Market, adding local charm to the role. Physical requirements include the ability to stand or walk during shifts, lift up to 50 pounds, and work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays.

Compensation for ACE is $18.50 per hour plus tips, with excellent growth opportunities through internal development and tuition reimbursement. The Vendue also provides comprehensive benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, discounts at all Avocet-owned hotels and restaurants, affordable medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a 3.5% match, and early access to earned wages via PayActiv. As an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity, fairness, and inclusion, The Vendue welcomes candidates who can embody their spirited culture and commitment to exceptional service.
