Dr. Wilkinson's Backyard Resort and Mineral Springs is an iconic resort and spa located in the heart of Calistoga, a charming town known for its natural beauty and renowned healing mineral springs. The resort has a rich heritage of providing time-honored mud bath and spa treatments, featuring healing mineral pool soaks and a unique experience deeply rooted in Calistoga's wellness tradition. With over 65 years of history, Dr. Wilkinson's has undergone a thoughtful transformation combining its iconic past with modern mid-century inspired design. The property now offers 50 completely refreshed guestrooms, a brand-new restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating, and a re-imagined spa that maintains the legacy of mud bath therapy while making it accessible to all guests.

The role offered at Dr. Wilkinson's is an hourly position with a pay range of $17.00 - $18.00 per hour. This role is essential in delivering outstanding guest service within the food and beverage area of the resort's restaurant. The successful candidate will serve as a vital link between the front of house and back of house operations, ensuring timely and precise delivery of food orders, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and providing welcoming, courteous interactions with guests. This position requires standing and moving at least 75% of the time and involves maintaining the atmosphere of exceptional hospitality that guests expect.

Job Duties

  • Understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner
  • set up station in the kitchen
  • extend a courteous, friendly and professional greeting to guests upon arrival and thank them upon departure
  • deliver food orders from the kitchen to customers' tables rapidly and accurately
  • act as the point of contact between front of house and back of house staff
  • communicate food orders to chefs with attention to priorities such as food allergies
  • assist wait staff in the service of food in accordance with established standards
  • assist in table set up and cleaning and maintaining cleanliness of the restaurant
  • assist wait staff with table setting by fetching and placing appropriate tableware, eating utensils and napkins
  • serve welcome drinks and hors d'oeuvres upon guests' arrival
  • ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards such as proper temperature
  • check in with customers and take additional orders or refill water as needed
  • remove dirty dishes and utensils
  • answer guests' questions about ingredients and menu items
  • inform restaurant staff about customers' feedback or requests
  • maintain the orderly upkeep of coolers and storage areas
  • report guest comments and complaints to the Food and Beverage Manager
  • maintain proper care and cleanliness of tableware and serving equipment
  • follow all company policies and procedures
  • immediately report suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions
  • maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas
  • follow all safety standards including proper equipment handling
  • attend all mandatory meetings as directed
  • perform other tasks including cross-training as directed
