Job Description
Red Lobster is a renowned and beloved family-owned restaurant chain famous for its commitment to delivering exceptional seafood dining experiences to communities across the nation. With a rich history that spans over fifty years, Red Lobster has evolved from a single restaurant into a network of more than 500 locations. Each restaurant embodies the founding passion to offer guests not only outstanding meals but also a genuine connection to seafood and coastal culture. The company prides itself on being more than just a place to eat and work; it is a welcoming environment where new friends become familiar faces and community ties are strengthened.
As a large, well-established brand in the casual dining sector, Red Lobster offers employees competitive wages with weekly pay, flexible scheduling options, and comprehensive benefits. These benefits include affordable medical, dental, and vision plans starting at less than $10 per week, life insurance, short-term disability, and voluntary benefits. Employees are also eligible for a 401(k) retirement savings plan with company matching after one year of service and can earn anniversary pay upon meeting eligibility requirements. In addition, team members enjoy discounted shift meals and a 25% discount when dining as a guest. Red Lobster is dedicated to career growth, providing training and advancement opportunities to help employees build a long-term career.
The Busser/Runner role at Red Lobster is a vital position that contributes significantly to the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant. This role involves welcoming guests with a friendly demeanor and setting the tone for their dining experience from the moment they arrive. Key responsibilities include preparing the station for each shift, ensuring all tables are properly set with silverware and condiments, refilling drinks, and assisting the servers by pre-bussing and running hot food to tables promptly. The Busser/Runner plays an essential part in maintaining cleanliness and adherence to food safety standards by clearing tables, resetting them for the next guests, and attending to the cleanliness of seating and floors.
Additionally, those in this role communicate table readiness to ensure a seamless flow of service and support dish area breakdown tasks. The physical demands of the role require the ability to bend, reach, stoop, lift up to 30 pounds safely, stand and move about the restaurant throughout an 8 to 12-hour shift, and possess strong multitasking skills alongside attention to detail. Successful candidates will be team players who can thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Red Lobster highlights that great plans are on the horizon, emphasizing the positive future ahead for its team and restaurants. Current and prospective employees are invited to be part of this exciting journey. Red Lobster is also proud to be an equal opportunity employer that fosters a welcoming workplace where diversity and inclusion are valued without discrimination based on age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, or veteran status. The pay range for this position is competitive, falling between USD $11.41 and USD $25.00 per hour, reflecting the value attributed to the essential contributions of the Busser/Runner role.
