Job Description
Red Lobster is a well-established restaurant chain with a rich history rooted in a family-owned vision to connect people with seafood and coastal experiences. Over the past fifty years, Red Lobster has grown to become a beloved name with over 500 locations, each carrying forward a passion for delivering memorable meals and special moments to guests. The company prides itself on being more than just a place to dine; it is a vital part of the communities it serves, where new guests become familiar faces and the restaurant becomes a second home for employees and customers alike.
At Red Lobster, employees are valued members of a family-oriented work environment that emphasizes growth, opportunity, and a welcoming atmosphere. This is reflected in their comprehensive benefits package, including competitive wages with weekly pay, flexible schedules, access to affordable medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and short-term disability insurance, voluntary benefit plans, and a 401(k) retirement plan with company contributions starting after one year of service. Additional perks include anniversary pay, discounted meals during shifts, guest discounts, and opportunities to receive training and career advancement within the company.
The part-time role of Busser/Runner at Red Lobster involves vital responsibilities aimed at enhancing the dining experience for guests. As a Busser/Runner, you will be the first friendly face customers encounter, greeting them warmly and preparing the station ahead of service. This includes ensuring tables are properly set with utensils and condiments, refilling beverages, clearing used dishes and glassware, and delivering hot food promptly when it is ready. The position requires collaboration with servers to assist customers as needed, adherence to food safety and sanitation standards, and maintaining clean and orderly dining areas.
Physical requirements are an important aspect of this role, as the Busser/Runner will need to stand for long periods during 8 to 12-hour shifts, assist in lifting items up to 30 pounds safely, bend, reach, and perform other movements essential for setting and clearing tables. Attention to detail, multitasking, and the ability to work as part of a team are critical to success in this position. Red Lobster also accommodates individuals with disabilities by providing reasonable adaptations to enable them to perform essential functions.
Looking ahead, Red Lobster has exciting plans for growth and innovation. The team and restaurants today are already strong, but the company is focused on an even brighter future. Joining Red Lobster means becoming part of a dynamic and inclusive workplace that celebrates diversity and is committed to equal employment opportunities regardless of age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, or veteran status. The Busser/Runner role is an excellent opportunity to start or continue a rewarding career in the hospitality industry with a reputable company that values its employees and community.
