Job Description

CMC Hotels is a distinguished hospitality company dedicated to providing exceptional lodging and dining experiences to guests across its portfolio of properties. With a strong emphasis on associate growth and recognition, CMC Hotels fosters a work environment where employees are considered the heart of the organization. The company’s philosophy centers around the principle of Growing People, reflecting its commitment to developing and nurturing talent within the hospitality industry. Whether operating luxury hotels or vibrant resorts, CMC Hotels prioritizes delivering excellent customer service while supporting the professional advancement of its team members.

The company is currently hiring for both full-time and part-time Food Runner positions, emphasizing flexibility and career growth opportunities within the hospitality sector. This role requires candidates to have open availability for AM and PM shifts to meet the dynamic scheduling needs typical of a hotel restaurant environment. CMC Hotels offers competitive wages that reflect the experience level of the associate, along with a comprehensive benefits package to support employee well-being. Benefits include paid vacation, holiday pay, medical, dental, and vision insurance, sick leave, 401k retirement plans, and exclusive discounts at Marriott Hotels. These offerings underline CMC Hotels’ dedication to fostering a supportive and rewarding workplace for all staff.

The Food Runner at CMC Hotels plays a vital role in creating a seamless dining experience by efficiently delivering food from the expo window directly to guests’ tables while ensuring accuracy and quality. The role adheres to the company’s 15/5 guest engagement rule, encouraging associates to make eye contact and smile from 15 feet away and greet guests within 5 feet to ensure complete guest satisfaction. Food Runners support the restaurant team by restocking plates, replenishing buffet items, assisting with opening and closing side work such as setting silverware and clearing tables, and occasionally helping guests navigate the buffet or directing them to the host stand.

Attention to detail is crucial, as Food Runners must verify orders against tickets to confirm food items, table numbers, and seat assignments are accurate. Additionally, the position demands compliance with food safety guidelines, maintaining the highest standards for freshness and taste. Wearing an approved uniform inclusive of a nametag at all times and following established hotel time and attendance procedures is mandatory.

This role is ideal for individuals with a friendly, outgoing demeanor who are eager to engage guests and contribute to a positive dining atmosphere. A strong work ethic and the desire to succeed are essential qualities, as well as the physical ability to lift, pull, and push moderate weight typical in a fast-paced food service environment. Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment, including Turbo Chef ovens, and point of sale systems like Micros, is highly desirable. While previous hospitality or food service experience is preferred, CMC Hotels also values candidates who demonstrate a willingness to learn and excel within the hospitality industry. ServSafe certification is a plus, further demonstrating a commitment to food safety standards.

In summary, this position at CMC Hotels offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality to grow professionally within a supportive and dynamic team. By joining CMC Hotels as a Food Runner, associates can expect to develop valuable skills in customer service and food handling while accessing a comprehensive benefits package and career advancement prospects in an industry-leading organization.
