Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in a food service or hospitality role preferred
  • good physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods
  • must maintain hygiene and professional appearance
  • ability to follow health and safety standards
  • effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to work as part of a team
  • reliable with a strong work ethic

Job Qualifications

  • Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation
  • ability to read, write, speak and understand English to communicate effectively
  • ability to grasp, lift or carry goods weighing up to 20 lbs on a continuous schedule
  • ability to stand and work continuously in confined spaces
  • ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges
  • basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • ability to read and write correspondence
  • ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers
  • ability to solve practical problems and deal with various situations with limited standardization
  • ability to interpret written, oral, schedule or recipe instructions

Job Duties

  • Assist the Executive Chef and servers by monitoring the flow of orders into the kitchen
  • provide final garnishes to plates before service and inspect dishes to ensure consistent quality of presentation
  • assist servers and bartenders by running food from kitchen to dining tables or bar positions
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the dining area including tables and chairs
  • restock expeditor and side stations with tableware, flatware, utensils, condiments and linen
  • maintain adequate service supplies for each shift
  • assist in bussing tables and resetting them to restaurant standards
  • pour water and refill coffee and tea cups for guests
  • assist servers by running beverages to guests in the dining room
  • prepare, maintain and clean the bread service station
  • return soiled linens to laundry and collect fresh linens for restaurant, room service or banquet room
  • demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing clientele and environment
  • perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, manager, or department director
  • conduct all responsibilities in a professional and ethical manner
  • maintain consistent and regular attendance record
