Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in a food service or hospitality role preferred
- good physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods
- must maintain hygiene and professional appearance
- ability to follow health and safety standards
- effective interpersonal and communication skills
- willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- ability to work as part of a team
- reliable with a strong work ethic
Job Qualifications
- Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation
- ability to read, write, speak and understand English to communicate effectively
- ability to grasp, lift or carry goods weighing up to 20 lbs on a continuous schedule
- ability to stand and work continuously in confined spaces
- ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges
- basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- ability to read and write correspondence
- ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers
- ability to solve practical problems and deal with various situations with limited standardization
- ability to interpret written, oral, schedule or recipe instructions
Job Duties
- Assist the Executive Chef and servers by monitoring the flow of orders into the kitchen
- provide final garnishes to plates before service and inspect dishes to ensure consistent quality of presentation
- assist servers and bartenders by running food from kitchen to dining tables or bar positions
- maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the dining area including tables and chairs
- restock expeditor and side stations with tableware, flatware, utensils, condiments and linen
- maintain adequate service supplies for each shift
- assist in bussing tables and resetting them to restaurant standards
- pour water and refill coffee and tea cups for guests
- assist servers by running beverages to guests in the dining room
- prepare, maintain and clean the bread service station
- return soiled linens to laundry and collect fresh linens for restaurant, room service or banquet room
- demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing clientele and environment
- perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, manager, or department director
- conduct all responsibilities in a professional and ethical manner
- maintain consistent and regular attendance record
