Job Description
This job posting details opportunities within a hospitality establishment that is likely a restaurant or a similar food service venue. The company is seeking part-time employees for two vital front-of-house positions: Busser and Food Runner. Both roles are integral to ensuring a seamless guest experience by supporting the dining environment's operational needs and facilitating excellent service flow. The pay starts from $17.87 per hour, reflecting a competitive hourly wage in the hospitality industry for part-time work.
The Busser plays a key supporting role in maintaining the front-of-house environment. This position is essential to keeping the dining room, patios, and communal spaces clean and well-organized during service hours. The busser is responsible for clearing and resetting tables promptly between guests, assisting servers and bartenders with running food, refilling beverages, and restocking necessary items. The role requires vigilance and a proactive mindset to spot messes or guest needs before being asked, contributing to an inviting atmosphere. Safety in handling glassware, dishes, and utensils is critical, alongside maintaining guest-facing areas such as restrooms and waitlist zones. Collaboration with the entire front-of-house management team ensures a smooth operation and helps create a positive guest experience. This role is part-time and requires availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.
The Food Runner serves as the crucial link between the kitchen and guests, tasked with delivering food orders accurately and promptly. The food runner supports both the kitchen team and servers by communicating effectively to ensure order accuracy and timing. This role requires attention to detail, such as describing dishes to guests and managing special requests or dietary notes. Keeping the expo station and food pick-up areas organized and clean is part of the daily responsibilities, as is assisting bussers in table clearing and resetting when needed. Food runners upholding high standards of hospitality, presentation, and sanitation are key to ensuring guest satisfaction. Like the busser position, this role is part-time and demands availability for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Both roles emphasize teamwork, communication skills, and physical stamina to efficiently carry out duties within a busy restaurant environment. Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is beneficial but not mandatory. These positions offer flexibility in scheduling along with benefits including 401(k), employee discounts, flexible schedules, and paid time off. Preferred shift availability includes day and night shifts with weekend availability required. The work location is in person, requiring direct interaction with guests and team members. These roles provide an ideal opportunity for individuals looking to build experience in customer service, hospitality, and team-oriented environments while earning a competitive wage.
