Job Description
Legal Sea Foods is a renowned seafood restaurant chain established in 1950, beginning as a small fish market in the Inman Square neighborhood of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Over the decades, it has grown into a celebrated brand recognized for its unwavering commitment to quality, freshness, and excellent customer service. From modest beginnings where fish was served simply on paper plates at communal picnic tables, Legal Sea Foods has continuously evolved while maintaining its core values. Today, it operates multiple locations along the Eastern Seaboard, each upholding the same standards of freshness and culinary excellence that originally defined the brand. The company prides itself on providing customers with superior dining experiences through fresh seafood prepared with care and attention to detail, ensuring a memorable visit whether for casual gatherings or special occasions.
The role of the Busser at Legal Sea Foods is an integral part of ensuring that the dining environment remains clean, inviting, and efficiently maintained. This position involves bussing tables by clearing away dishes, wiping down table surfaces and chairs, and re-setting tables for the next guests. Beyond these tasks, the Busser is responsible for upholding general restaurant cleanliness, including maintaining spill-free floors, restroom checks, and assisting servers by responding promptly to guest requests. The Busser supports the smooth operation of the front-of-house team by ensuring that all stations are stocked with necessary materials such as roll-ups and placemats and by assisting with side work during shift changes. This role requires attentiveness to detail, teamwork, and a customer-oriented approach to service.
Reporting directly to the Front of House (FOH) Manager or Manager on Duty, the Busser plays a key role in fostering a positive guest experience by providing timely support to guests and staff alike. In addition to maintaining cleanliness and order, the Busser is often called upon to handle guest inquiries and make recommendations when appropriate, demonstrating a friendly and proactive attitude. Legal Sea Foods requires all Bussers to be at least 17 years old and to participate in the federal E-Verify program, which validates employment eligibility in the United States. This is a crucial step in maintaining a professional and compliant workforce.
Legal Sea Foods offers a vibrant and team-focused work environment where employees are encouraged to contribute to the company’s legacy of excellence. Bussers at Legal Sea Foods are valued team members who enable the restaurant to meet its high standards of operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Embracing this role provides an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start or enhance their hospitality career in a company known for its dedication to quality and service. If you are organized, hardworking, and enjoy working in a dynamic restaurant setting, this position could be a perfect fit. With Legal Sea Foods, you become part of a storied tradition of seafood excellence where every meal served reflects the company’s heritage of freshness and customer care.
