The role offered is a combined Bar Back and Busser position, vital to the efficient operation of both the dining room and the bar. This full-time position reports directly to the Assistant and General Managers and offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience. It is designed for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are dedicated to supporting the smooth functioning of a busy restaurant.
In this role, the bar back/busser ensures that empty tables are swiftly prepared to welcome new guests by removing dirty dishes, sanitizing tables, cleaning seating areas, and maintaining cleanliness of the floors near the dining area. Additionally, this position plays a key role in backing up bartenders by supplying them with necessary glassware, liquor, and garnishes to maintain a continuous and enjoyable social experience for patrons. The bar back/busser’s diligence helps prevent bartenders from running out of stock and maintains overall bar efficiency.
The responsibilities include inventory management during opening and closing shifts, timely restocking of alcoholic beverages and glassware, and cleanliness of bar equipment and work areas. Additionally, the position requires close communication with servers and hosts to optimize table utilization and customer service, as well as inspecting and cleaning restrooms every 15 minutes to ensure a hygiene standard.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Post-hire certification as Certified Food Handler and Responsible Vending
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively
- Basic math skills
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift and carry heavy items
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Maintain high personal cleanliness and follow safety protocols

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Ensure opening or closing liquor inventory and assist bartender in inventory tasks
- Anticipate bartender needs by restocking and preparing supplies without direct instruction
- Maintain personal appearance and dedication to serving people
- Complete pre-work to stock and set up stations as required
- Yield guest right of way and contribute to team efforts as needed
- Maintain flexibility for scheduling to support smooth restaurant operations
- Maintain high level of personal cleanliness
- Obtain service area assignments and clear tables after guests leave
- Remove dirty dishes and place tableware in appropriate areas
- Clean and sanitize tables, chairs, booths and floors between seatings
- Inspect and clean restrooms every 15 minutes
- Respond promptly to guest requests and communicate with servers and hostesses
- Assist servers with food delivery during peak times
- Ensure backup liquor supplies are always available
- Retrieve alcohol from storage as needed
- Change kegs when necessary
- Collect empty glasses and bottles from tables and bar area
- Restock garnishes, mixes, ice, and clean glassware
- Maintain clean towels at bartender stations
- Sanitize and relines trash receptacles
- Rotate bar stock and ensure readiness for each shift
- Wash glassware continually
- Keep bar tops wiped and clean
- Assist bartenders with any needs
- Clean and organize the beer cooler
- Close to open duties to prepare station for next day
