Job Description

One World Observatory, located atop the iconic One World Trade Center in New York City, offers an unparalleled experience with 360-degree views of the New York skyline from the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. This premier destination invites visitors to embark on a unique journey to the top via the SkyPod Elevators, which showcase the dramatic rise of NYC in just 47 seconds. Guests can also immerse themselves in the sights and sounds of the city at the See Forever Theater or learn from the Observatory’s team of tour guides at City Pulse. The venue features an array of exceptional amenities, including ONE Dine, a view restaurant and bar that provides elevated American cuisine alongside a curated selection of beers, wines, and specialty cocktails. Additionally, ASPIRE at One World Observatory offers 9,000 square feet of private event space with breathtaking views, accommodating up to 450 guests for exclusive events and gatherings.

The Busser position at One World Observatory plays a vital role in upholding the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and guest readiness in the restaurant. This role supports the front-of-house team by efficiently resetting tables, assisting servers, maintaining dining and service areas, and contributing to smooth and effective restaurant operations. The Busser ensures that every guest enjoys a welcoming and memorable dining experience by maintaining a professional, courteous, and guest-focused demeanor. Working in this fast-paced and high-profile environment requires adaptability, attention to detail, and a commitment to exceptional service. The position offers an hourly wage of $11.35 plus eligible gratuities, alongside a generous benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and a 401(k) plan. The role is on-site at the One World Observatory in NYC and demands physical stamina and the ability to work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous restaurant, hospitality, or guest service experience preferred
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality environment
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional guest service
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing operational priorities
  • Knowledge of restaurant service standards, table settings, and dining etiquette preferred
  • Ability to learn and communicate menu offerings accurately
  • Maintain professional appearance and personal hygiene standards
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull
  • lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Job Duties

  • Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the restaurant, dining room, service stations, and guest areas
  • Greet guests as directed and provide bread, butter, water, or other table accompaniments in accordance with service standards
  • Clear, clean, and reset tables promptly following guest departure to support efficient table turnover
  • Transport dishes, glassware, flatware, and service items to designated dishwashing and storage areas
  • Clean and sanitize tables, chairs, booths, floors, and surrounding dining areas between guest seatings
  • Assist servers with food delivery, beverage refills, table maintenance, and other service needs, particularly during peak periods and large parties
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, communicating service needs to the appropriate server or leader
  • Collaborate with hosts, servers, and other team members to maximize seating efficiency and deliver exceptional guest service
  • Provide guests with general information regarding One World Observatory, dining experiences, and nearby New York City attractions, as appropriate
  • Complete assigned opening, closing, and side work responsibilities
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions
  • Maintain a professional, courteous, and guest-focused demeanor in all guest interactions
  • Practice safe work habits by following all company safety policies, procedures, regulations, and required training
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
