Job Description

Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux is a vibrant and dynamic restaurant brand that originates from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Founded by two former LSU walk-on basketball players, the company embodies the spirit of hard work, determination, and teamwork. What started as a single, humble establishment has blossomed into a nationally recognized chain known for its delicious scratch-made dishes infused with a distinctive Louisiana flair, all served in a welcoming game-day atmosphere that captures the excitement of sports and community. Walk-On's prides itself on creating not just meals, but memorable experiences by fostering a culture where every team member is valued and supported, recognizing that hospitality is a team effort from the kitchen staff to management. This spirited approach to dining and service makes Walk-On's a unique destination for guests looking for more than just food—they find a genuine atmosphere filled with energy, passion, and camaraderie.

Join Walk-On's as a Busser, a pivotal role within the team that keeps the dining environment running smoothly and seamlessly. This part-time, non-exempt position reports directly to the Manager on Duty and requires a dedicated individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy setting. As a Busser, you will be the backbone of the dining room by ensuring that tables are consistently cleared, cleaned, and reset quickly to accommodate incoming guests. You will support servers by assisting with food runs, drink refills, and any tasks necessary to maintain the flow of service. This role is critical to the guest experience, as maintaining cleanliness and readiness of dining and work areas contributes directly to the high standards of the restaurant and the satisfaction of the clientele.

In addition to physical tasks such as carrying trays and maintaining sanitation stations, the Busser at Walk-On's must embody a team-first mentality, exhibiting a positive attitude and readiness to assist wherever needed. This includes adhering to safety and hygiene guidelines, including alcohol awareness laws where applicable, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all patrons and staff. The successful candidate will learn the menu to better support servers by suggesting guest favorites, helping to create a personalized and engaging experience. Flexibility is key, with availability needed during nights, weekends, holidays, and special events. Experience in a restaurant setting is helpful but not required, as Walk-On's is committed to training motivated team members who demonstrate the right attitude.

Walk-On's offers a workplace that feels like a team sport, complete with a culture built on comradery, fun, and championship-level hospitality. The position is perfect for individuals who want flexible hours suitable for students or those with other commitments, along with the potential for growth within the company. Being part of Walk-On's means embracing a role where the little things—like a smile, quick table turnaround, and attentiveness—make a big difference in creating an unforgettable guest experience. Walk-On's also ensures all bussers comply with federal, state, and local health, safety, and service laws, maintaining proper certifications where required in states including Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee. As an Equal Opportunity Employer, Walk-On's supports diversity and inclusion in the workplace, celebrating every team member's contribution to their ongoing success. This role is more than a job—it's a chance to be a valuable part of a winning team that values growth, passion, and community involvement.
