Job Description

Cracker Barrel is a beloved American country-themed restaurant and gift store chain established in 1969. Known for its warm hospitality, delicious, hearty comfort food, and nostalgic ambiance, Cracker Barrel has grown to employ over 70,000 team members nationwide. The company’s mission extends beyond just serving meals; it's about creating a gathering place where guests can enjoy good food and connect with loved ones in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. With a rich heritage and renowned Southern hospitality, Cracker Barrel stands out as a unique dining destination that also offers a diverse assortment of retail items featuring Americana and country collectibles. Employment at Cracker Barrel offers more than a job—it offers a community where team members are valued, supported, and encouraged to grow personally and professionally.

The Busser role at Cracker Barrel is an integral part of the dining experience. While it may seem straightforward, this position plays a critical role in setting the tone for hospitality from the moment guests walk into the restaurant. Bussers help maintain a clean, comfortable, and inviting environment by clearing and resetting tables efficiently, which allows the dining room to function smoothly throughout busy service times. This role is more than just table clearing; it’s about creating the foundation for memorable dining experiences. Working closely with servers and other team members, the Busser supports a culture of teamwork and pride in service. The position welcomes applicants from all backgrounds, including those without prior experience, as comprehensive training is provided to help new members fit seamlessly into the team.

This position is perfect for individuals who are proactive, organized, and eager to contribute to a positive team environment. Bussers at Cracker Barrel take pride in their work and understand how each action contributes to the overall guest experience. The company provides competitive pay with weekly and even same-day access to pay, reflecting its commitment to recognizing the value of its employees. Health insurance eligibility starts immediately for both full-time and part-time employees, along with access to vacation time and an employee assistance program to support well-being. Cracker Barrel also emphasizes career development, offering industry-leading training programs from day one, allowing team members to build skills and advance within the organization. Benefits such as a 401k plan with company matching, an employee stock purchase program, and exclusive discounts on food and retail items add further value to the employment experience.

The culture at Cracker Barrel centers around belonging and support from day one, with onboarding, training, and programs to help employees succeed individually and as a team. Recognition programs and employee events foster a sense of community and engagement among team members. Beyond the tangible benefits, Cracker Barrel promotes an inclusive workplace where diversity is embraced and all qualified applicants are considered regardless of race, gender, or other protected classifications. Those seeking a meaningful role in hospitality that goes beyond tasks and contributes to shared moments and lasting memories will find the Busser position rewarding and fulfilling. The opportunity to join a large, iconic company with a strong sense of roots and community awaits.
