Job Description

First Watch is a leading daytime dining restaurant renowned for its made-to-order breakfast, brunch, and lunch menus that utilize the freshest ingredients available. With a strong focus on quality, hospitality, and community, First Watch operates over 630 locations across 32 states, serving an exceptionally curated chef-driven menu that rotates multiple times per year to highlight the best seasonal flavors. Recognized as #1 Best Breakfast by Newsweek's Readers' Choice Awards 2025 and named the #1 Most Loved Workplace in America for 2024 and 2025 by the Best Practice Institute, First Watch has established itself as a trusted brand that appeals to both employees and customers alike. The company proudly commits to social responsibility by donating a portion of every kid's meal to organizations making positive community impacts, raising approximately $2 million to date.

First Watch is dedicated to its YOU FIRST philosophy, which emphasizes putting their employees first every day. They prioritize creating a supportive work environment free from night shifts and offer a fully chef-curated menu to ensure quality dining experiences. The company believes in empowering its team members with independence to make decisions that enhance customer satisfaction. This philosophy fosters a caring and engaging workplace culture where employees are valued highly, even more than 'bacon,' symbolizing their commitment to employee happiness and development.

The Busser role at First Watch is an essential part of maintaining a seamless dining experience. Equipped with a spray bottle, sturdy tray, and clean cloth towel, the Busser is responsible for quickly and efficiently clearing, cleaning, sanitizing, and resetting tables within three minutes. They act as silent communicators by signaling Hosts when tables are ready to be seated, ensuring a smooth flow of guests in the restaurant. The Busser works closely with Hosts and Servers to maintain optimal table availability and cleanliness. Beyond table management, the Busser also contributes by performing light housekeeping duties including rolling silverware and maintaining restroom cleanliness.

This position requires excellent communication and teamwork skills, a commitment to keeping the environment clean and welcoming, and the maturity to handle responsibilities autonomously. The Busser role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting and who are passionate about contributing to a positive customer experience. At First Watch, the Busser role is more than just cleaning tables — it’s about supporting the entire dining room operation to deliver an exceptional breakfast, brunch, and lunch experience.

First Watch supports its employees with an impressive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, telemedicine access, various flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) retirement savings plan, and a generous meal discount program for employees and their families. Additionally, employees have access to paid time off, tuition reimbursement, employee assistance programs, personal and professional coaching, backup care for children and elders, supplemental insurance options, and exclusive discounts through Perks at Work. These comprehensive benefits highlight First Watch’s commitment to the well-being and growth of its team members and contribute to its recognition as one of the most loved workplaces in America.
