Job Description

First Watch is a renowned daytime dining restaurant that specializes in serving made-to-order breakfast, brunch, and lunch. With over 630 locations operating across 32 states, First Watch has built a strong reputation based on its chef-curated menu featuring the freshest ingredients available. The brand is guided by its unique "Follow the Sun" culinary philosophy which ensures that the menu continually evolves to highlight high-quality flavors at their seasonal peaks. Popular dishes include the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Quinoa Power Bowl, and the signature Million Dollar Bacon. Aside from focusing on culinary excellence, First Watch is deeply committed to community involvement and social responsibility, having donated approximately 2 million dollars from kid's meal sales to various organizations and causes that benefit local communities.

The company prides itself not only on quality food and a welcoming atmosphere but also on its strong workplace culture known as the "YOU FIRST" philosophy. This culture places employees at the center of the company’s priorities by fostering an empowering and supportive environment. First Watch ensures there are no night shifts for employees, promotes independence in decision-making, and encourages a team-oriented atmosphere where employees can thrive and provide exceptional customer experiences. They are recognized as a great place to work, winning 1 Best Breakfast2 by Newsweek's Readers' Choice Awards 2025 and being named the 1 Most Loved Workplace in America by the Best Practice Institute in both 2024 and 2025. The company also offers competitive benefits and continuously works to make its employees happy, emphasizing their culture with the saying "we love our employees more than bacon."

The Busser role at First Watch is vital for maintaining smooth and efficient dining service. Bussers use a methodical and swift approach to clean, clear, and reset tables to ensure readiness for new guests within a three-minute window. This position acts as a silent communicator by discreetly updating Hosts and Servers on table availability, which aids in maintaining excellent flow and guest satisfaction. The role suits individuals who enjoy teamwork, thrive on quick multitasking, and pay close attention to detail in hygiene and presentation. Duties also include light housekeeping responsibilities, rolling silverware, and keeping restrooms clean, contributing to the overall pleasant dining environment.

Ideal candidates for the Busser position must be at least 18 years old and embody the values of communication, teamwork, and efficiency. The position emphasizes the importance of cleanliness and pace, which directly affects the quality of the customer experience. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to join a company with a positive culture, strong community ties, and a commitment to employee well-being. Full-time employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) retirement savings program, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more. Furthermore, the company provides unique perks such as a 50% meal discount, employee assistance programs, backup child and elder care, and access to the Calm app to support mental wellness.
