Job Description

Outback Steakhouse, operated by Out West Restaurant Group—the largest franchisee of the brand—is an Australian-themed restaurant chain established in March 1988. Known for combining serious dedication to quality food with a fun, vibrant atmosphere, Outback Steakhouse has carved out a unique niche in the casual dining sector. The company’s culture emphasizes treating people "Just Right," fostering respect, camaraderie, and enthusiasm among its team members, whom they proudly call "Outbackers." Outback Steakhouse has received notable recognition, including the International Franchise Association's Franchisee of the Year Award in 2022 for excellence in local community service. It operates with a strong commitment to inclusivity and equal opportunity, ensuring all applicants are considered without bias, and providing accommodations as needed to support employees in performing their roles effectively. The company also maintains a drug-free workplace policy and employs an Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify) for all hires.

The Busser role at Outback Steakhouse is pivotal to creating a positive dining environment and ensuring guests have an “AUS-SOME” experience. Bussers play an essential part in the team by supporting the delivery of prompt, friendly, and attentive service that aligns with Outback’s mission to provide expertly tailored service to each guest. This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a team-focused atmosphere and want to contribute to memorable dining experiences. The Busser is responsible for maintaining clean and properly set tables, assisting servers by delivering food and beverages, and answering customer phone inquiries with professionalism. Their duties also involve upselling items with a general knowledge of the menu to enhance the guest experience.

The role requires a strong commitment to health, safety, and sanitation standards, ensuring that the restaurant environment upholds Outback’s rigorous standards at all times. Bussers collaborate closely with other team members to maximize guest satisfaction and uphold Outback’s reputation for quality and service excellence. The role supports a dynamic and fast-paced restaurant environment where teamwork, communication, and a positive attitude are essential. Outback Steakhouse also offers notable benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, paid time off, and meal compensation benefits upon eligibility. The restaurant is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas, encouraging employees to spend these holidays with family and friends. This combination of a supportive team environment, comprehensive benefits, and the opportunity to grow within a well-respected brand makes the Busser position at Outback Steakhouse a rewarding career choice for those passionate about hospitality.
