Job Description

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is an iconic American restaurant and retail chain that began its journey in 1969. Known for its warm, welcoming atmosphere, Cracker Barrel has long been a cherished gathering spot for families and friends to enjoy hearty, homestyle meals and browse through unique country-themed retail items. With more than 70,000 team members nationwide, the company prides itself on delivering not just a meal but a memorable experience rooted in genuine hospitality and community spirit. Cracker Barrel combines Southern charm with exceptional customer service, making it a beloved destination across the United States.

The role of a Busser at Cracker Barrel is vital to creating a positive dining experience for guests. As a Busser, your primary responsibility is to ensure that tables are clean, comfortable, and impeccably prepared for new patrons. This position is more than just clearing tables; it is about setting the stage for memorable moments by helping to maintain the flow and ambiance of the dining room. Working closely with servers and other dining room staff, you help create a welcoming environment where guests feel cared for from the moment they walk in.

You don’t need prior restaurant experience to thrive in this role because Cracker Barrel offers comprehensive training to equip you with the skills you need. The company values a team-first mindset, encouraging employees to spot what needs to be done and jump in to help at any moment. Organizational skills and a sense of pride in making things better for others are qualities that will help you excel as a Busser. This is a collaborative position where moving with purpose and keeping things humming behind the scenes contribute directly to the overall hospitality experience.

In addition to the rewarding responsibilities, Cracker Barrel emphasizes taking care of its employees. Competitive weekly pay with same-day pay access ensures you can rely on steady and timely compensation. Both full-time and part-time employees become eligible for health insurance from day one, along with other benefits such as vacation time and an employee assistance program. Personal and professional growth is encouraged through industry-leading training opportunities, a 401k plan with company matching contributions starting at 90 days, and an Employee Stock Purchase Program.

Working at Cracker Barrel means becoming part of a culture that values belonging and support from day one. New team members are welcomed through comprehensive onboarding, ongoing training, and employee recognition programs that foster a sense of community and connectedness. As a Busser, you not only contribute to the smooth operation of the restaurant but also enjoy exclusive perks like a 35% discount on Cracker Barrel food and retail items and access to additional discounts on home goods, travel, cell phones, and more.

Overall, Cracker Barrel offers an ideal environment for individuals who value teamwork, enjoy an active role in hospitality, and want to grow within a reputable and caring company. If you are ready to make a difference one table at a time and join a workplace that is truly "all in good company," a Busser position at Cracker Barrel is an excellent opportunity to start your career and make meaningful contributions every day.
