Job Description
Cracker Barrel is a well-established American restaurant and gift store chain known for its unique blend of traditional Southern cuisine and an inviting country store atmosphere. Founded in 1969, Cracker Barrel has grown to become a beloved destination for guests seeking more than just a meal. It provides a warm, welcoming environment where people can gather, enjoy hearty food, and discover unique gifts and home goods inspired by Southern culture. With over 70,000 team members nationwide, it prides itself on fostering a culture where both guests and employees feel valued and part of a community. The company embraces its roots and remains committed to delivering memorable experiences that go beyond dining, emphasizing hospitality and care at every touchpoint.
The available role is for a Busser, an essential member of the dining team responsible for ensuring every guest’s experience at Cracker Barrel starts on the right note. The Busser’s role is much more than clearing tables; it is about maintaining a clean, comfortable atmosphere and enabling a smooth flow of service within the dining room. This position is perfect for individuals who enjoy working as part of a team, take pride in supporting others, and thrive in an active, organized work environment. Employees new to the restaurant industry are encouraged to apply, as Cracker Barrel offers comprehensive training to equip new Bussers with all necessary skills.
In this role, the Busser will work closely with servers, hosts, and other dining room staff to reset tables quickly and efficiently, ensuring that guests always find a welcoming and spotless place to enjoy their meal. This position requires attentiveness to the dining environment, anticipation of team needs, and a dedicated mindset geared towards hospitality. Cracker Barrel values employees who are proactive, organized, and team-oriented, contributing to a positive guest experience and a productive workplace.
Cracker Barrel offers competitive weekly pay, along with same-day pay access, making it attractive for those seeking reliable and timely compensation. Employees gain health insurance benefits eligible from day one, whether working full or part time, and access to vacation time and an employee assistance program. The company is invested in the growth of its employees, providing ongoing training through its industry-leading PAR program starting on the first day. Additional benefits include a 401k plan with company matching after 90 days, an employee stock purchase program, and exclusive employee discounts on food and retail items. The company fosters a culture of belonging through onboarding, continuous development, recognition programs, and team events.
Cracker Barrel is an equal opportunity employer, committed to inclusive hiring practices and welcoming applicants from all backgrounds without discrimination. Joining Cracker Barrel means becoming part of a team dedicated to more than just serving meals—it means becoming part of a community that values hospitality, teamwork, and personal growth. If you’re looking for a place where your efforts create moments that matter, and where your role contributes to a larger welcoming experience, a Busser position at Cracker Barrel might be the perfect opportunity.
