Job Description
Out West Restaurant Group is the largest franchisee of Outback Steakhouse in the United States, operating numerous locations that offer customers a unique dining experience with an Australian flair. Outback Steakhouse, established in March 1988, is known for combining great food with a fun and hospitable atmosphere, aiming to make every dining occasion memorable for guests. Out West Restaurant Group prides itself on its culture of respect, camaraderie, and enthusiasm, which translates into a positive work environment for its employees, known as "Outbackers." The company's guiding philosophy is to treat people "Just Right," ensuring a work culture that promotes success, respect, and opportunity for all associates.
Outback Steakhouse's mission is to deliver perfectly tailored service to each guest while maintaining a serious commitment to food quality without sacrificing the fun dining experience. Out West Restaurant Group supports this mission by investing in its employees through thorough training, growth opportunities, and a supportive workplace culture. The company is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other protected status, adhering to both federal and state laws.
As an Outbacker within Out West Restaurant Group, you will play an essential role in delivering an exceptional dining experience. The position offered is hourly and non-exempt, with a starting wage of $16.90 per hour plus tips, ideal for candidates seeking a flexible schedule in a vibrant environment. Your contributions will be crucial in creating the AUS-SOME experience that defines Outback Steakhouse, ensuring every guest feels welcome from the moment they enter to their last impression.
The role requires working as part of a dynamic team to maintain a clean and hospitable dining area, assist in customer service, and support the smooth operation of the restaurant. You'll be equipped with a general knowledge of the menu to recommend and upsell items to guests, enhancing their dining experience. Phone handling and teamwork across all restaurant areas are integral to the job, fostering an environment where cooperation and service excellence go hand in hand.
Beyond the frontline role, Out West Restaurant Group offers growth opportunities through its Shift Leader program, providing extensive on-the-job training for employees eager to advance their careers. The company also emphasizes a healthy work-life balance by closing on Thanksgiving and Christmas, allowing employees to spend time with loved ones.
With comprehensive health benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid sick leave, meal discounts, and an Employee Assistance Program, Out West Restaurant Group demonstrates its commitment to employee well-being. The hospitable culture recognizes and rewards hard work, perseverance, and leadership, making this position not just a job but a potential career path within a supportive community.
Joining Out West Restaurant Group means becoming part of an award-winning team recognized for excellence in community service and franchise performance. The company supports important social causes and encourages continuous talent acquisition, making it a desirable employer for individuals seeking a fulfilling role in the hospitality industry.
