Job Description

Out West Restaurant Group is the largest franchisee of Outback Steakhouse in the United States. Outback Steakhouse is a renowned Australian-themed restaurant that first opened its doors in March 1988. Known for taking food seriously while maintaining a fun and inviting atmosphere, Outback Steakhouse prides itself on doing things uniquely and positively impacting the lives of its employees, whom they affectionately call "Outbackers." The company's philosophy focuses on treating both customers and employees "Just Right," fostering a culture of respect, camaraderie, and enthusiasm that drives success. They consider every customer as a guest in their own home and are dedicated to the success of their staff by providing comprehensive training and growth opportunities.

Out West Restaurant Group embodies these values and offers a hospitable work environment that recognizes hard work, perseverance, leadership, and teamwork. The company takes great pride in being an equal opportunity employer, ensuring fairness, respect, and opportunity for all employees regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other protected status. They adhere strictly to all applicable federal and state laws relating to employment and pay equality, further highlighting their commitment to a positive and lawful work atmosphere.

This particular role is an hourly, non-exempt position offering $17.75 per hour plus tips, making it an attractive opportunity for those who seek both financial benefits and a fun workplace. The role requires front-of-house responsibilities such as bussing, cleaning, resetting tables, and addressing any service or cleanliness issues in public areas to ensure a seamless guest experience.

In addition to maintaining a well-presented dining space, employees will have general knowledge of the food and drink menu and are encouraged to recommend and upsell products, contributing to the guest’s dining satisfaction and business growth. The position involves answering phones professionally, directing calls as needed, and supporting all areas of the restaurant based on business demands. Teamwork is essential, as Outbackers support one another to ensure every guest opportunity to experience the best service is fulfilled.

This position demands commitment to maintaining safe food handling, cleanliness, sanitation standards, and adherence to all safety protocols during shifts. The company is committed to supporting employees with growth opportunities, including a Shift Leader program with extensive on-the-job training, meal discounts, flexible scheduling, and an employee assistance program. They also close on Thanksgiving and Christmas to allow employees to spend quality time with family and friends.

Overall, the role is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy working as part of a team, and are motivated by career advancement prospects within a reputable restaurant group with a strong sense of community and social responsibility.
