Job Description

Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux is more than just a restaurant – it's a vibrant community dedicated to celebrating hard work, teamwork, and the spirit of the underdog. Founded by two LSU walk-on basketball players in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Walk-On's has grown from a single establishment into a nationally recognized brand. Through dedication and a passionate approach to hospitality, the company emphasizes scratch-made dishes with a distinct Louisiana flair, combined with a lively gameday atmosphere that welcomes guests as part of the team. At Walk-On's, every team member, from the kitchen staff to the front-of-house crew, plays a crucial role in delivering memorable dining experiences marked by energy and pride.

The busser position at Walk-On's is an essential role that supports the restaurant's efficient operation and positive guest experience. As a busser, you contribute to the fast-paced environment by keeping dining areas clean, assisting servers, and ensuring that every table is ready for new guests quickly and thoroughly. You'll be part of a team where flexibility, communication, and a cheerful attitude are highly valued. The role is part-time and non-exempt, reporting directly to the Manager on Duty. This position offers a dynamic workplace where each shift feels like a team sport, making it an excellent fit for individuals who thrive in high-energy, fast-moving settings and enjoy connecting with people.

In this role, you will uphold Walk-On's commitment to hospitality by maintaining cleanliness, supporting the serving staff, and participating actively during busy service periods. The busser acts as the unsung hero on the floor, ensuring guests can enjoy their meals in a comfortable and inviting setting, contributing to the welcoming culture Walk-On's is known for. The company values personal growth internally, so this position also presents opportunities for advancement to future leadership roles. You will be trained on menu knowledge and safety practices, including compliance with hospitality laws relevant to the states they operate in, such as Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee.

Walk-On's core values underpin every aspect of the work environment: teamwork, hospitality, passion, growth, and community. These principles guide the busser's daily activities and interactions with guests and colleagues. The company is committed to diversity and inclusion, ensuring that every employee can contribute to and benefit from a supportive workplace culture. With flexible scheduling designed to accommodate evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events, this position is ideal for students or anyone needing adaptable work hours. If you’re someone who enjoys a collaborative team atmosphere, takes pride in the details, and thrives in a fast-paced setting, Walk-On’s invites you to bring your positive attitude and join their team where every shift is a chance to win together.
