Job Description
Cracker Barrel is a well-established American restaurant and retail chain known for its warm hospitality, delicious home-style cooking, and a unique blend of dining and shopping experiences. Founded in 1969, Cracker Barrel has become a beloved institution for travelers and locals alike, offering not only hearty meals and comfort food but also an inviting atmosphere where guests can feel at home. Boasting over 70,000 team members nationwide, the company takes pride in its deep-rooted commitment to community, customer satisfaction, and creating memorable moments around good food and friendly service. With a combination of Southern charm and genuine care, Cracker Barrel continues to grow while maintaining its reputation for exceptional dining and exceptional hospitality.
The role being discussed is that of a Busser, an essential team member who plays a critical part in maintaining the seamless flow of the dining experience at Cracker Barrel. As a Busser, you are more than someone who clears tables and stacks dishes; you are a foundational part of the guest experience, setting the stage for a warm and inviting environment that guests remember long after they've left. This position is particularly suitable for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a passion for making things better for others and staying organized. The Busser works closely with servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to ensure the dining room is clean, comfortable, and ready to welcome guests at all times.
No prior restaurant experience is required to become a Busser at Cracker Barrel, since the company provides comprehensive training from day one to help new hires succeed. This makes the role accessible to those who are just entering the workforce or looking to switch career paths. The company's industry-leading PAR training program supports growth and development, offering employees many opportunities to thrive and advance within the organization over time.
In addition to the meaningful work, Cracker Barrel offers competitive pay starting from $13.50 to $15.50 per hour, with same-day pay access. Employees—both full-time and part-time—are eligible for health insurance starting on their first day, along with vacation time and access to an Employee Assistance Program for additional support. The company fosters a culture of belonging where employees are supported through onboarding, ongoing training, recognition programs, and various team events. Additional perks include a 35% discount on food and retail items, exclusive discounts on home and travel services, and much more.
Joining Cracker Barrel means becoming part of a community that values teamwork, dedication, and shared success. If you are someone who likes to spot what needs doing, values teamwork, and takes pride in contributing to a positive environment, this Busser role might be the perfect opportunity for you to start or continue your career in hospitality at a respected and growing company.
